\nmanage unicef resources for child protection in the field office. Provide general technical support to programme partners and design, prepare, implement, monitor and evaluate all aspects of the rights, policy and legislation, child participation and protection services, orphans and vulnerable children support projects in the field office states. Analyze and evaluate data to ensure achievement of objectives and\/or takes corrective action when necessary to meet child protection programme objectives. Contribute to the development and\/or introduction of new approaches, methods and practices in project management and evaluation.
\nAdvocate and promote policy and legislative reforms in line with the convention on the rights of the child (crc) and the convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women (cedaw); passage and implementation of the child rights law. Ensure capacity building of law enforcement agencies, parliament, judiciary, professional groups and decision makers for the implementation of local legislative and practical actions\/policies on children and women\u2019s rights at the state, local government and community levels including during emergencies.
\nParticipate in the development of the sectoral work plan, ensure the achievement of specific assigned objectives. Provide guidance and support to staff in meeting project objectives. Prepare child protection program progress reports required for management, donor, budget review, programme analysis and annual reports etc.
\nEnsure the accurate and timely input of project information in the computerized programme system database and issue status reports for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
\nIdentify training needs, select and compile training and orientation materials for government, civil society partners and others involved in programme implementation and assist government authorities in planning and organizing training projects.
\nParticipate in identification and selection of technical supplies and equipment. Undertake field visits to unicef project sites, assess local conditions and resources and monitor unicef inputs\u2014supply and non-supply assistance. Evaluate and analyze financial and supply reports to ensure appropriateness of documentation, expenditures are within allotments, data is consistent with programme implementation data base (pidb), mid-term strategy plan (mtsp) priorities. Report to the supervisor and\/or head of office the outcome of reviews.
\nParticipate in intersectoral collaboration with other programme colleagues. Assist in development of appropriate communication and information strategy to support and\/or advocate programme development.
\nProvide inputs for the preparation of the sectoral documents for the country programme recommendation and plans of action, country programme summary sheet, and other programme documents, as required.
\nContribute to funding proposal development, resource mobilization and develop appropriate partnerships, undertake project monitoring and donor reporting in support of children and women\u2019s rights project activities. Attend technical cooperation meetings, prepares notes and undertake follow-up actions on implementation of recommendations and agreements.<\/p>\n
\nadvanced university degree in social sciences, law, humanities or related technical field. Post graduate qualification in human rights or justice administration an asset.
\nFive years progressively responsible professional experience in programme design, management, monitoring and evaluation in child protection. Very good experience and contemporary knowledge of human rights, child participation, child rights and child law issues is required.
\nFluency in oral and written english is required. Knowledge of local language of duty station an asset.
\nKnowledge of the latest developments and technology in related fields.
