GPON is presently operating in the Northeastern regional part of Nigeria where we have reached over 100,000 lives with relief materials, child protection services. GBV mitigation services, livelihood skill-building, health services, and Education support services. We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Finance Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Contract<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration:<\/strong> 6 Months (renewable)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dimensions of the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implementation of financial management processes, protocols, and systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key End Results and typical Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Accounting software operations and reporting:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare payment, journal, and receipt vouchers using the corporate accounting software &#8211; QuickBook.<\/li>\n<li>Support with the clearing of all open items.<\/li>\n<li>Support the monthly QuickBooks closure processes.<\/li>\n<li>Following up with offices and staff as regards the dashboard financial deadline requirements<\/li>\n<li>Print the monthly QuickBooks reports for signing and appropriate filing.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the QuickBooks balances of the advances account agree with the subledger balances.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the monthly financial report.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that transactions are complete and accurate with self-explanatory and understandable descriptions.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain good filing for all vouchers in a limited access area to ensure easy retrieval.<\/li>\n<li>Support in ensuring all documents are scanned and properly stored on Cloud<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a record of vouchers borrowed by staff and ensure that they are returned and filed appropriately.<\/li>\n<li>Support program staff in making payments to participants during activities implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Internal Financial Controls &amp; Payments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that the documentation for payment is acceptable and accurate with all arithmetic calculations being correct.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all cheques are prepared in a way that ensures accuracy and validation for payments<\/li>\n<li>Issue cheques as per weekly payment list; exception should be approved by CFM.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain cash books, including providing updates to Finance Finance Officer to prevent negative cash and bank balance.<\/li>\n<li>Release cheques to the right payee and ensure the appropriate receipts are issued and filed.<\/li>\n<li>Approved payment requests should be processed within three days of receipt.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare the Withholding tax and VAT schedule where relevant before payment is done.<\/li>\n<li>Cancel (stamped PAID) all vouchers (payment, journal, and receipt) and their supporting documents to forestall re-use.<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other duties as specified by your supervisor(s).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Advance Management:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare and maintain the sub-ledger for all advances (travel, purchase, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely liquidation of staff advances should not exceed seven days after travel arrival<\/li>\n<li>Should ensure that more than one advance is given to staff at a time.<\/li>\n<li>Make available Bi-weekly to the Finance Officer a list of all un-liquidated advances and support with the follow-up of these advances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Assist in the Administration of Staff Payroll:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare the withholding tax deductions report and complete and submit monthly Statutory PAYE forms to relevant Government Organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Reconciles payment of NHF with Federal mortgage bank of Nigeria<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the posting of all prepaid staff benefits on Quickbook.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree University Degree in Accounting or relevant professional qualifications equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>At least 3 years experience in a similar role.<\/li>\n<li>A B.Sc or HND in Financial Accounting and related Financial \/ Business Administration courses.<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 years of practical work experience in managing financial and administrative systems for donor-funded projects.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 2-year experience in grant financial management with donor-funded projects in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong communication skills: oral and written.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to carry strenuous office duties of lifting heavy items.<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with international donors.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the use of QuickBooks (Added advantage)<\/li>\n<li>Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScydwU8YCknrzW_JIu-4USgyab-BcjGtSnTEG8mabMBR2fWVg\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>28th July, 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GOALPrime Organization Nigeria (GPON) is a policy-driven humanitarian, non-governmental organization that implements her program through a revitalized partnership.
