We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Account Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Abuja (FCT)<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Contract<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong> 1 year (Renewable)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Account Officer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of our organization under the supervision of the Head of Finance, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with accounting principles.<\/li>\n<li>The Account Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, handling transactions, and supporting the finance department&#8217;s day-to-day operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and invoices.<\/li>\n<li>Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely payments and collections.<\/li>\n<li>Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure adequate funds are available on a monthly basis.<\/li>\n<li>Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all statutory deductions such as Withholding Tax (WHT) PAYE, VAT and others statutory payments are promptly remitted to the relevant statutory authority monthly<\/li>\n<li>Assist with audits and ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with other departments to provide financial data and support decision-making.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in conducting training on financial matters for the project team when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Provide operational oversight function on cash\/bank transactions in the finance unit<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the improvement of the accounting system and internal control.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up and review all project-related travel requests and liquidations in line with travel policy.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor balances in account receivables and payables, prepare reports on material exceptions to policies or identify long outstanding ones for corrective actions<\/li>\n<li>Accomplish other tasks as requested by the Finance Lead.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
