We carry out innovative, lifesaving programmes in Health, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Disaster risk reduction, Mental Health and Care Practices, Food security and Livelihoods and Social Protection. Action Against Hunger began operations in Nigeria in 2010 in response to the high rate of chronic malnutrition in Northern Nigeria, focusing on integrated programming. In 2011, we expanded our work to begin implementing nutrition development projects in Jigawa and in Yobe. Following the crises in Northeast Nigeria, we further expanded our operations to address the Nutrition, Health, Food security and livelihoods, WASH, and shelter needs of conflict-affected communities. Action Against Hunger Nigeria programme is supported by FCDO, ECHO, GAC, BHA, SDC, UNICEF, EU, AFD, SIDA and GFFO. We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Field Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Monguno, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Job type:<\/strong> Full-time<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> Operation<br \/>\n<strong>Proposed start date:\u00a0<\/strong>September 2023<br \/>\n<strong>Reporting to:<\/strong> Area Coordinator<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Action Against Hunger is currently looking to fill the role of Field Manager who\u00a0will be\u00a0responsible for the overall management of operational aspects in support to the program team.<\/li>\n<li>The Field Manager will also work closely with technical coordinators to ensure proper planning and implementation of activities as per work plans, as well as ensuring that the mission\u2019s procedures are respected and followed by the field teams, as well as serve as the Team Leader and Security focal person.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure proper PCM (Project Cycle Management) follow up and implementation of project activities in line with the different work plans through line management of the POs (Program Officers) and under the technical guidance of the Technical Coordinators;<\/li>\n<li>Lead and motivate the management team in the Monguno Office;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure good level of coordination and integration of new program assessments and project evaluations in project areas;<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for stress management and conflict mitigation within the teams;<\/li>\n<li>Lead the weekly base coordination meetings and promote departmental coordination;<\/li>\n<li>Act as the senior representative of ACF\u00a0in Monguno LGA of responsibility in Borno State and liaise\/exchange information with the Area Coordinator to ensure common ACF\u00a0positioning in humanitarian issues;<\/li>\n<li>Promotion and defense of humanitarian principles towards all stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Training and reinforcement of understanding and adherence to humanitarian principles by AAH staff;<\/li>\n<li>Maintenance\/expansion of regular relations with field-based donors, authorities and partners;<\/li>\n<li>Compliance with national laws, regulations and best practices;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure respect of ACF\u00a0Code of Conduct by all ACF\u00a0staff;<\/li>\n<li>Examine possibilities for program expansion at both geographical and sectoral dimensions;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure good coordination between Programmes and Support departments in the Base;<\/li>\n<li>In coordination with Area Coordinator, responsible for decisions regarding the Security and Safety of ACF\u00a0premises and staff in Monguno LGA;<\/li>\n<li>Closely coordinate with Crisis Management Team (Country Director, Deputy Country Director HP, Security Coordinator and Logistics Coordinator) for any developments on the security situation;<\/li>\n<li>Brief all staff on security and context changes as needed;<\/li>\n<li>Supports and follows up with Finance &amp; Admin and Logistics (Supply, Procurement, Fleet and Movements), including planning, authorization of expenses and reporting through line management of the Log Officer, and Finance &amp; Admin Officer, in coordination with Fin, HR and Log Managers;<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that ACF\u00a0policies, procedures and donor regulations applicable to field activities are executed in close collaboration with field team;<\/li>\n<li>Defines Administrative needs and ensures field recruitment is carried out according to regulations and national labor laws;<\/li>\n<li>Development of an information (formal\/informal) network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of a Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in related Humanitarian Studies.
