We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Mining Engineer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Requisition ID:<\/strong> 2365<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Gombe<br \/>\n<strong>Job type:<\/strong> Full time<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinates all Quarry Operations from Overburden Stripping to Crushed Limestone Productions.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for strict adherence of health and Safety of both staff and contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for Yearly, Monthly and Weekly extraction plan.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures deviations from the plan is avoided and\/or adjust the plan to present reality.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with government officials on issue related to explosives, permits and lasting certification of the blaster.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Activities \/ Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate all quarry face operations and report to the Quarry Manager. These include; overburden removal by contractors, drilling, blasting, loading, haulage, crushing, dewatering, perimeter drainage, haulage route constructions and maintenance and face development<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that plants and machineries are available at all time through proper checks with the contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate blasting operations and ensure that blasting monitoring readings are taking and kept<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that explosives are well kept at the magazine, and issues are properly monitored and recorded. (Inform the quarry manager of explosives stocks min.\/max and arrange for restock of explosives)<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that staffs and contractors follow work instructions, procedures and adhere to rules and regulations during operations.<\/li>\n<li>Up to date on quarry tools like QM, QSO and Autocad<\/li>\n<li>Inform Quarry Manager concerning the blending recipe: loading points and quantities.<\/li>\n<li>Administering the department i.e. reports preparations and act for Quarry Manager whenever he is on annual leave or on official engagement.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct risk assessment for all maintenance works.<\/li>\n<li>Control the supply of limestone in terms of quality and quantity to meets the production needs.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect the work site to ensure daily operation are carried out safely as planned.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate blasting operations and ensure that blasting monitoring readings are taking and kept.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for plants and machineries are availability at all time through proper checks with the contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct risk assessment for all maintenance works.<\/li>\n<li>Control the supply of limestone in terms of quality and quantity to meets the production needs<\/li>\n<li>Inspect the work site to ensure daily operation are carried out safely as planned.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for effective utilization of work force (staffs and contractors) and appraise immediate subordinate.<\/li>\n<li>Compliance with Lafarge Holcim OH&amp;S standards and environmental regulations.<\/li>\n<li>This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and the job holder may be required to perform duties outside of this as operationally required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Dimensions<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>List of direct reports:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervisors<\/li>\n<li>Operators<\/li>\n<li>Contractors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key interfaces, stakeholders and relationships:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The incumbent interacts regularly with all cadres of staff.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she also interacts regularly with the external public including suppliers and other external stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Safety compliance<\/li>\n<li>% reduction of repetitive failures<\/li>\n<li>Work Area Inspection<\/li>\n<li>No of BOG Report\/Time in the field<\/li>\n<li>Stakeholder compliance (Statutory Payments)<\/li>\n<li>Initiative and innovative<\/li>\n<li>People management skills<\/li>\n<li>Result driven (reliability, cost)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Profile Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University Degree or HND in Mining Engineering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specific Work experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 1 year experience in similar role<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of English<\/li>\n<li>PC Literacy i.e. MS Office, QM, QSO, AutoCAD full operational use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Technical \/ Functional Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of blasting and drilling<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in geotechnical (slope stability)<\/li>\n<li>Basic mining knowledge (crushing, screening etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Quarry production and crushing operations<\/li>\n<li>OHS&amp;E and mining legislation<\/li>\n<li>Good written and oral communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer Skills especially Excel, word, PowerPoint and email applications<\/li>\n<li>Ability to prioritize with excellent time management skills<\/li>\n<li>Good attention to detail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Behavioral Competence:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Willingness to work on field and with team<\/li>\n<li>Strong team player<\/li>\n<li>Adaptable<\/li>\n<li>Tact and tolerant<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well under pressure and adhere to set deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Resilient and Motivated<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Orientation to development<\/li>\n<li>Analytical Thinking<\/li>\n<li>Accuracy and details orientation<\/li>\n<li>Decision Making and Problem Solving<\/li>\n<li>Planning &amp;
