Our objective is to combat youth unemployment by offering support for startup initiatives and fostering the development of sought-after skills. Our initial endeavor concentrates on youth in West Africa, concentrating on specific demographic groups where we can make a substantial impact. Currently, ASF is collaborating with prominent service providers in the region to conduct a comprehensive landscape scan to assess opportunities, needs and gaps that will shape our strategic approach. We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Research Assistant (Intern)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Full Time<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The role of the research assistant \/ intern involves facilitating the recruitment, consent acquisition, and ongoing interaction with study participants.<\/li>\n<li>The research assistant will oversee all aspects of study documentation and ensure the collection of high-quality data throughout the study period. The duration of this Research Assistant position is 3 months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend training sessions and startup meetings related to data collection in advance of the study&#8217;s commencement.<\/li>\n<li>Document and report any deviations from the protocol and ethical concerns encountered during data collection.<\/li>\n<li>Be prepared to provide additional research information as needed and address data inaccuracies or inconsistencies.<\/li>\n<li>Complete and submit reports, including data collection tools and instruments used during the consultancy.<\/li>\n<li>Identify, engage, and obtain informed consent from potential study participants, adhering to the research protocol&#8217;s inclusion and exclusion criteria.<\/li>\n<li>Gather both quantitative and qualitative data from study participants, conducting data reviews to ensure completeness before transmitting it to the central server as instructed.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the supervisor to review data for completeness and send collected data to the appropriate platforms\/servers.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in regular meetings with the study team, document valuable insights and discussions, and provide daily updates and monthly reports.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain confidentiality and ensure data security, including the safety and security of research equipment and data capture devices.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hold a Degree in Education, Economics, Research, Statistics, or a relevant field.<\/li>\n<li>Be fluent in both written and spoken English, as well as local language(s).<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.<\/li>\n<li>Be capable of multitasking and meeting tight deadlines on short notice.<\/li>\n<li>Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, data management, and data analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Exhibit excellent computer skills and mandatory experience with real-time electronic data collection\/capturing.<\/li>\n<li>Have experience working on similar projects within a one-stop-shop setting.
