We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Procurement Officer (Quantity Surveyor)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Full time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Senior Procurement Officer and is involved in maximizing project margin, adding value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>The Procurement Officer derives the best value from suppliers and subcontractors, carries out monthly financial reviews on projects and forecast final outturn values for cost, sales and margin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Main Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and implement new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification<\/li>\n<li>Negotiate the best deal for pricing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers<\/li>\n<li>Meet subcontractors and suppliers on-site where necessary<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance to project budgets and provide analysis of deviations<\/li>\n<li>Research new materials for design and cost savings<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all subcontractors and suppliers provide insurance policies for products delivered<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a mutual beneficial relationship with suppliers and distributors to ensure adequate suppliers at all times for the company and to continually improve pricing and quality of work<\/li>\n<li>Establish new relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adequate resources for all projects and to continually improve pricing and quality of work<\/li>\n<li>Ensure awareness and company compliance to all building codes and local construction guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in maintaining company quality control program<\/li>\n<li>Leverage technology, safety measures, and information sharing to increase productivity and profitability<\/li>\n<li>Handle change order requests and forecast upcoming demand<\/li>\n<li>Manage materials\/equipment inventory<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Positively represent the company at all times through a success-oriented and professional demeanor<\/li>\n<li>Work with team members to complete duties as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least a Second-Class Upper Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Quantity Surveying (Q.S.)<\/li>\n<li>Must be Certified by the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS)<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 7 years\u2019 experience as a Quantity Surveyor\/ Procurement Officer in the Construction industry<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in standard industry software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skill Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To successfully perform the typical tasks and duties of the position, the knowledge, skills, and\/or abilities listed below are required:<\/li>\n<li>Ability to effectively solve problems and conflicts<\/li>\n<li>Ability to negotiate and purchase products at best cost value<\/li>\n<li>Ability to plan, coordinate, and provide leadership in the execution of complex construction projects<\/li>\n<li>Ability to delegate and manage multiple operations effectively<\/li>\n<li>Ability to assess the operational effectiveness of contractors<\/li>\n<li>Possesses written and oral communication skills to support decisions and recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Conducts meetings and provides effective leadership to construction team members<\/li>\n<li>Develops and manages budgets within established parameters<\/li>\n<li>Ability to analyse and interpret technical materials accurately and effectively<\/li>\n<li>Effective in making objective decisions<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications<\/li>\n<li>Strong team philosophy<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with construction contractors, vendors, and consultants<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated analytical skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their CV to:<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:careers@ultimusconstruction.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">careers@ultimusconstruction.com<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0using the Job Title as the subject of the mail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>17th November, 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ultimus Construction is a leading provider of construction and property development solutions.
