Particularly involved in the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the first cause of death in the world, SI&#8217;s interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in around twenty countries, SI&#8217;s teams &#8211; 2000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers &#8211; work with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures. We are determined to prevent and fight all type of abuse \u2013 all act of exploitation, abuse and\/or sexual harassment (SEAH) against members of beneficiary communities or collaborators, fraud, corruption, violation of persons and\/or property, funding of activities harmful to human rights \u2013 that could be perpetrated in the frame of its interventions. SI implements a zero-tolerance policy regarding acts of SEAH. We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0MEAL Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Full-time<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Start date:<\/strong> The projected contract duration is 6 Months \u2013 with possible extension.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mission<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Within the Nigeria mission and under the supervision of the MEAL Coordinator, the Mission MEAL Manager supports the MEAL Coordinator to ensure that the MEAL strategy of the mission is implemented by the mission staff. He\/she:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contributes to the centralization and harmonization of MEAL tools and processes on the mission<\/li>\n<li>Provides methodological support to all program teams on technical questions linked to MEAL and cross-cutting issues such as: design of M&amp;E plan, quantitative and qualitative data collection, measure of indicators, complaint response mechanism, do no harm analysis etc.<\/li>\n<li>In collaboration with the MEAL Coordinator, looks over the quality and relevance of internal monitoring and evaluation activities, recommendations and analysis produced by his\/her department (studies, maps\u2026)<\/li>\n<li>Provides support training of program teams within his\/her fields of expertise<\/li>\n<li>Contributes to institutional knowledge building and improvement of MEAL methods and techniques<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Tasks<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Strategic orientation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in developing a sector-based strategy (M&amp;E, accountability, gender, do no harm) in accordance with SI\u2019s policies and priorities for the intervention country<\/li>\n<li>Participate in programming work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Training and technical support:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop program teams\u2019 capacities in the department\u2019s field of expertise: data collection and analysis (method, format, software etc.), measure of indicators, complaint response mechanism, do no harm analysis etc. Develop training modules along with MEAL Coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>Provide program teams with a technical and methodological support for M&amp;E activities, data management (questionnaire design, sampling, data entry, extraction of useful data and interpretation) and integration of cross-cutting issues.<\/li>\n<li>Support program teams in creating or adapting tools for: indicators monitoring, impact monitoring (M&amp;E plan and survey tools) or risk analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monitoring and Evaluation of SI programs:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the elaboration, review and harmonization of M&amp;E tools, data management, especially in M&amp;E Plans.<\/li>\n<li>Upon ad hoc request from the program \/ technical coordinator, perform advanced analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to terms of references for external evaluations and studies.<\/li>\n<li>Check relevance of reports, analysis, maps and recommendations produced.<\/li>\n<li>Propose adjustments, new activities to improve the quality of the operations or approaches, in consultation with PMs and program \/ technical coordinators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accountability:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the design and roll out of complaints response mechanisms.<\/li>\n<li>Check that the key principles of the mechanism are respected.<\/li>\n<li>Produce regular analysis of the complaints and feedback received.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Institutional Knowledge Building (IKB):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build on institutional knowledge on M&amp;E activities and missions\u2019 results (lessons learnt and recommendations) and make sure these are known by PMs.<\/li>\n<li>Support recommendation tracking process and work on action plans.<\/li>\n<li>Use SI\u2019s IKB tools to document MEAL tools and methodologies\/approaches.<\/li>\n<li>Produce a detailed handover report in the approved SI format at the end of the employment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>HR Management\/Capacity Development:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure that new staffs are briefed on MEAL\u2019s roles and responsibilities.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the evaluation and in the assessment of the performance of collaborators under his\/her supervision<\/li>\n<li>Identify training needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting \/ Communication \/ Representation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in writing project proposals and reports\u2019 paragraphs on crosscutting issues and MEAL.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the right formats and delays are respected.<\/li>\n<li>Represent SI when asked and\/or delegated to do so.<\/li>\n<li>Upon request, develop articles, case studies and success stories.<\/li>\n<li>Share with the appropriate authority any information on the security context and any event which may have consequences on SI activities and team safety.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Profile<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professional experience: 4 years of relevant experience (NGO\/Private or Public sector) out of which at least 1 year on a MEAL managerial role.<\/li>\n<li>Education: B.Sc.
