The vision of the University is to be a world renowned University noted for high quality academic and research programmes as well as professional, practical and entrepreneurial capacity development. Its mission is to produce God-fearing, ethically sound, highly skilled national and global leaders in various fields of human endeavour.<\/p>\n<p>The University took-off with students for the 2012\/2013 academic session in the Colleges of Humanities. Natural and Applied Sciences and Social &amp; Management Sciences. The University has well developed teaching\/learning and administration facilities in addition to sports and recreation facilities to cater for human wellness.<\/p>\n<p>The University is embarking on massive expansion programme to establish the following Colleges and programmes in the 2013\/2014 academic session:<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nCollege of Medicine<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anatomy<\/li>\n<li>Physiology<\/li>\n<li>Biochemistry<\/li>\n<li>Pharmacology<\/li>\n<li>Nursing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Engineering<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Agricultural Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Civil Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Electrical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Electronics Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Mechanical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Computer Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Chemical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Geology and Mining Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Petroleum and Gas Engineering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Environmental Sciences<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Architecture<\/li>\n<li>Building<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Management<\/li>\n<li>Surveying and informatics<\/li>\n<li>Quantity Surveying<\/li>\n<li>Urban and Regional Planning<\/li>\n<li>Estate Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Agriculture<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Agriculture<\/li>\n<li>Hotel Management and Tourism<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The expansion programme creates academic staff vacancies in the following categories for full-time, adjunct, part-time and contract\u00a0appointments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professor<\/li>\n<li>Reader\/Associate Professor<\/li>\n<li>Senior Lecturer<\/li>\n<li>Lecturer I<\/li>\n<li>Lecturer II<\/li>\n<li>Assistant Lecturer<\/li>\n<li>Technologists\/technical Staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates in the categories listed in above to fill vacancies in the Colleges\/Programme Departments listed above<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Generally, applicants for lecturing positions must be holders of at least a Bachelors Degree (Second Class Honours (Upper Division)) with Masters Degree from recognized Universities.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must have sound knowledge of lecturing functions with research capabilities and experience.<\/li>\n<li>Scholarly publications in reputable journals for academic positions above Assistant Lecturer are mandatory.<\/li>\n<li>Membership of a professional association is also required.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants for any position in the College of Medicine must possess appropriate academic and professional qualifications.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants in the category of Technologists\/Technical Staff must have a minimum of National Technical Certificate (NTC) or equivalent for Technical Staff position and Higher National Diploma (HND) for Technologist position in At the various programmes.<\/li>\n<li>The point of entry to each position will depend on experience and academic\/professional achievements.<\/li>\n<li>Computer proficiency is mandatory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The specific selection criteria for the various positions apply as follows:<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nAssistant Lecturer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant must have at let a Second Class Honours Bachelors Degree (UpperDivision) and a Masters Degree.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Lecturer II<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant must have Ph.D Degree or its equivalent. For Medical Sciences, applicants must have a recognized medical qualification.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants who possess at least a Master*s Degree with course work and thesis\/dissertation in the subject of specialization with a minimum of three years post qualification teaching experience in a University or institution of similar status may also be considered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Lecturer I<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In addition to the qualifications specified for Lecturer II, an applicant for Lecturer I position should have at least 4 (four) years post-doctoral teaching experience and demonstrable ability in research with evidence of scholarship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Senior Lecturer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant should normally possess at least three years teaching experience as Lecturer I in a University or Institution of similar status and must also show evidence of significant advancement in scholarly achievements since his\/her appointment as a Lecturer I.<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of scholarly achievements should normally be in the form of research publications, creative work and professional contributions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reader\/Associate Professor<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A candidate for this position should normally have not less than 3 years experience as Senior Lecturer in a University or Institution of similar status. Account shall be taken of contributions to teaching in the University as well as Community Service. Cognate professional experience will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Professor<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant must have the basic qualifications as for Lecturer II with a clear evidence of scholarship through considerable academic publications, 10 years of post-PhD qualification experience in teaching and research will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nGregory University has attractive conditions of service.
