The Company currently has several cement production plants in Nigeria In addition to presence in 14 African Countries.<\/p>\n<p>To consolidate its current strategic expansion drive, Dangote Cement Plc is seeking to recruit high-calibre candidates for the underlisted position in its Logistics Team:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Position: General Managers &#8211; Transport<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Any City, NG<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Successful candidates will oversee\/assume responsibility for managing the planning, operation and maintenance of 300 trucks to achieve seamless operations in the transportation department; supervise the operational aspects of Dangote Cement Group&#8217;s plant Transport Department to ensure that all activities are executed in a timely and efficient manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in the design and articulation of Dangote Cement Group&#8217;s transportation strategy, policies and procedures to ensure alignment with plant operations.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the execution of Dangote Cement Groups transportation operational strategy\/plan in line with agreed upon guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Develop fleet administrative standards and vehicle operating policies for the plant fleet,<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the tracking of DCPs fleet and generation of relevant reports as required.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise fleet scheduling and planning activities to ensure timely delivery of products to depots\/customers.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee liaison with maintenance unit to ensure trucks are in good working condition at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that truck drivers adhere to company regulations and freight transportation laws.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a transport operations budget which will be incorporated in to the Plant Transport budget if approved.<\/li>\n<li>Proactively identify potential operational issues and opportunities in the transportation department.<\/li>\n<li>Keep abreast of recent development in the logistics and transportation field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree or its equivalent in any discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Post-graduate\/professional qualification will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of twenty (20) years relevant work experience with fleet management (trucks), with at least ten (10) years in a management role.<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of freight transport laws and regulations.<\/li>\n<li>In-depth understanding of transportation and supply chain management.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of transport HSE policies.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of local and international best practice in freight transportation.<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of truck parts and functions.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizing and time management skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal and communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The expected fixed salary will be Naira 12 Million per year with performance-linked variable salary scheme totaling to a maximum of Naira 24 Million per annum.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Applications Closing Date<\/strong><br \/>\n15th November, 2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should forward their cover letter and CV, indicating the position applied for to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:careers@dangotecement.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>careers@dangotecement.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Only successful candidates would be contacted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dangote Cement Plc\u00a0Is the biggest quoted company in west Africa and the only Nigerian company listed among Forbes Global 2000 Companies.
