{"id":23339,"date":"2013-11-19T13:11:52","date_gmt":"2013-11-19T12:11:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=23339"},"modified":"2013-11-19T13:11:52","modified_gmt":"2013-11-19T12:11:52","slug":"graduate-accounts-officer-russelsmith-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/graduate-accounts-officer-russelsmith-group.html","title":{"rendered":"Graduate Accounts Officer at RusselSmith Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>RusselSmith Group\u00a0<\/strong>is a company created to to service the needs of the global Oil and Gas exploration and production industry utilizing Rope Access Technology as primary means of access.<\/p>\n<p>RusselSmith Group is recruiting to fill the below position of:<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nPosition: Accounts Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Job Reference Code: RS-FD-01<br \/>\nLocation: Lagos<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary of Functions\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nResponsible for receiving and matching invoices, account coding, preparation of disbursements and accounts payable related record keeping.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience Required\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nA university degree in accounting preferred, 1-2 years of related accounting experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills\/Qualifications Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well with people is essential.<\/li>\n<li>Strong quantitative skills such as statistics and data analysis skills<\/li>\n<li>Good reasoning skills; communication skills; multi-tasking skills and organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and data analysis skills<\/li>\n<li>Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Must possess working knowledge of regulatory bodies relating to payroll, taxes and general business financial conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Must be proficient in MS Office software \u2013 Word, Excel.<\/li>\n<li>Must possess intermediate knowledge of financial systems and familiarity with accounting and spreadsheet applications is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities &amp; Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Receives and processes vendor invoices and internal check requests; maintains open files for purchase orders, packing\/receiving slips and matches to invoices. Verifies invoices for quantity, unit pricing, extensions and applicable discounts. Obtains approval from appropriate personnel for payment for miscellaneous invoices.<\/li>\n<li>Codes invoices with accounting account numbers according to distribution in the general ledger; determines dates for invoices to be paid; keys invoices into computerized accounts payable system. Maintains alphabetical open invoice file for unpaid invoices.<\/li>\n<li>On a weekly basis, reviews invoices scheduled for payment and a special check request with Chief Accountant, prints approved checks, prepares and routes for signature according to check signing authority.<\/li>\n<li>Attaches duplicate copy of checks to original invoices, stamps invoices \u201cPaid\u201d and files in permanent records.<\/li>\n<li>Prints, verifies and maintains accounts payable voucher reports, open\/aging reports, disbursement reports, and journals.<\/li>\n<li>Receives and answers phone calls from vendors or other departments in regard to payment status of invoices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application Closing Date<\/strong><br \/>\n26th Novemver, 2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/russelsmithgroup.com\/about\/careers\/available-positions\/accounts-officer\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Click here to apply online<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RusselSmith Group\u00a0is a company created to to service the needs of the global Oil and Gas exploration and production industry utilizing Rope Access Technology as primary means of access.
