The institution was conceived as Africa&#8217;s first Development University. Its mission is to pioneer service learning and build leaders who will be prepared to tackle societal concerns. Located in Yola, Adamawa State, the University is a world-class career-oriented institution missioned to be an agent of change in the development of the region.<\/p>\n<p>AUN has a strong commitment to providing the skills and the leadership essential to solving the continent&#8217;s critical social and economic problems. The university offers an American-style education modelled after the curriculum of American universities with corresponding approaches to teaching and students assessment. The first entering class of 124 students and 20 professors was enrolled in September 2005. The University started on temporary buildings at the AUN Academy located directly opposite the AUN campus. In seven years, AUN is fast becoming a model for other universities in Nigeria and West Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The American University of Nigeria, Yola, is seeking for an Electrical Engineer. This position is a local one open to indigenous and\/or legal residents of Nigeria:<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nJob Title: Electrical Engineer<\/strong><strong><\/p>\n<p>Location:<\/strong> Adamawa<br \/>\nDepartment: Facilities Management<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Electrical Engineer position will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supervising the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems thereby maintaining electrical control systems and\/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability in line with AUN policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Position Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field from a recognized and reputable tertiary institution.<\/li>\n<li>Must have Engineering registration \/ certification\/COREN<\/li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written English communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Expert level competence with MS Office package and other relevant applications.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient with AutoCAD software.<\/li>\n<li>At least 3 years robust experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other requirements, abilities for the position:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to develop a work schedule, set goals, creates \/ implements actions plans and monitor progress towards goals.<br \/>\nKnowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including application and programming.<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal relationship with other colleagues and clients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and job classification as approved by the University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application Closing Date<\/strong><br \/>\n20th November, 2014.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method of Application<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their resumes, cover letters and references to: <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@aun.edu.ng\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>recruitment@aun.edu.ng<\/strong><\/a> before the closing date of this publication.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The position being applied for should be the subject of the email.
