{"id":25544,"date":"2015-07-24T08:57:56","date_gmt":"2015-07-24T07:57:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=25544"},"modified":"2016-11-11T11:45:26","modified_gmt":"2016-11-11T10:45:26","slug":"graduate-immigration-liaison-assistant-recruitment-at-british-deputy-high-commission-bdhc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/graduate-immigration-liaison-assistant-recruitment-at-british-deputy-high-commission-bdhc.html","title":{"rendered":"Graduate Immigration Liaison Assistant Recruitment at British Deputy High Commission (BDHC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The British Deputy High Commission is an equal opportunity employer and seeks to deliver highest possible standards of service by selecting experienced and professional staff to fill the position of:<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nJob Title: Immigration Liaison Assistant <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vacancy Notice No: 13\/15 LOS<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Lagos<br \/>\nGrade: A2<br \/>\nSection: RALON (Risk &amp; Liaison Overseas Network)<br \/>\nPosition Type: 12 Months Fixed Term Renewable Contract<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Purpose of Job<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The British Deputy High Commission is looking to recruit an Immigration Liaison Assistant to work in the Risk &amp; Liaison Overseas Network (RALON) office.<\/li>\n<li>The Unit is part of the Home Office and provides intelligence and information support to the UK visa operation as well as being responsible for liaison and training airlines in Lagos.<\/li>\n<li>The position is for an initial one year contract, and may be subject to renewal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Roles and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The successful candidate will undertake a variety of tasks including researching trends in visa applications, dealing with passengers referred to the BDHC by airlines and checking application details against confidential databases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties<\/strong><br \/>\nReport Writing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating and maintaining databases<\/li>\n<li>Provide administrative support to Lagos RALON ILM\/O&#8217;s on airport duties<\/li>\n<li>Support ILM\/O&#8217;s when providing training to external partners<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with external partners and analysing information to identify trends.<\/li>\n<li>Support Visa Services by providing timely information and intelligence to improve decision making quality.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and research cases that merit further investigation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills \/ Experience \/ Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\nEssential on arrival:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be able to work quickly and accurately often under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Have a positive approach to tackling problems.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to take on new and challenging tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication with excellent spoken and written English.<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy with accurate typing skills of at least 25 words per minute.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to remain customer focused, polite and courteous under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to work quickly and reliably with little supervision, to regularly meet challenging targets across the range of duties.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to effectively handle large volumes of information and identify trends.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent team players &#8211; this is an \u201call for one and one for all\u201d environment.<\/li>\n<li>To effectively represent RALON, the British High Commission, and the UK Government as a whole.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience of working within a visa section or other office environment is preferable and good keyboard skills and familiarity with computers and software packages (notably MS Word, Excel and straightforward databases) is essential for the role.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must be British passport holders who are able to obtain UK Security Clearance or other nationals who have recently lived at least five consecutive years in the UK and may be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.<\/li>\n<li>Spouses of diplomats from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and United States missions are also eligible to apply.
