In all our activities, we encourage the protection of human rights, capacity development and the empowerment of women.<\/p>\n<p>United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nigeria and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) in collaboration with relevant agencies of the Nigerian government is currently embarking on a project to promote sustainable fuel wood management in Nigeria. The Project is designed to help secure multiple environmental and socio-economic benefits, including reduced GHG emission from reduced fuel wood consumption, enhanced carbon storage and sequestration as well as improve rural livelihood and opportunity for local development.<\/p>\n<p>The Energy Commission of Nigeria and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nigeria, seeks to recruit the positions below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: National Project Coordinator &#8211; De-risking Renewable Energy NAMA for the Nigerian Power Sector<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Job Type: Full Time<\/li>\n<li>Qualification: BA, BSc, HND<\/li>\n<li>Experience: 5 years<\/li>\n<li id=\"location_li\">Location: Abuja<\/li>\n<li>Job Field: Engineering \/ Technical<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Descriptions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the direct supervision of the UNDP Country Office Sustainable Development Unit, and in close cooperation with the Programme Officer, the National Project Coordinator (NPC) is responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the UNDP-GEF project, including all project administrative matters.<\/li>\n<li>All work of the NPC will be carried out in line with the Country Programme Action Plan and in full compliance with the UNDP Rules and Regulations.<\/li>\n<li>The management and coordination process will be pursued through undertaking appropriate actions in programme formulation, implementation and evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Strong emphasis will be made on ensuring cohesion with other UNDP programmes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the project implementation in accordance with objectives, schedule and planned budget;<\/li>\n<li>Manage all project activity, staff, consultants and for timely implementation of requirements on monitoring and evaluation;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate awareness creation on all project activities;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the project activities with relevant activity and initiative of the Government;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure cooperation between the participating Institutions of the project;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely preparation of annual project reports, working plans and other relevant project documents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 5 years work experience in Project Management related to the energy sector. Previous work in national or international Project Management is an advantage<\/li>\n<li>University education in Sciences, Energy, Engineering, Social Sciences or relevant field.
