Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an independent, non-profit organization (NGO), founded on the basis of humanitarian principles, and human rights based approach, to secure the protection of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs), and to promote long term solutions to the problems of forced displacement.
\nDanish Demining Group (DDG) is a specialized unit within DRC which implements mine action and armed violence reduction (AVR) programmes. DDG\u2019s mandate is \u2018to create a safe environment free from armed violence and the remnants of conflict\u2019, and DDG does this via a programmatic focus on four key sectors: Security Systems Reform, Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) management, Mine Action and Conflict Management.
\nSince July 2015, DRC\/DDG have started up emergency operations in Nigeria in order to respond to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in northeastern Nigeria. In 2016, DRC\/DDG will commence an EU-funded programme that seeks to promote stability and socio-economic recovery in Borno and Adamawa states. The programme will focus on four key programmatic axes:<\/p>\n

\nPosition Overall Objectives<\/strong>
\nThe DRC-DDG M&E Manager for Nigeria is responsible for coordinating, improving and implementing Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems within DRC\/DDG programme funded through EU Trust Fund. In addition, the position holder is responsible for M & E capacity building of national team.<\/p>\n
\nThe M&E Manager is responsible and accountable for designing, managing, monitoring, and advising on DRC\/DDG M&E activities in northeastern Nigeria. The M&E Manager\u2019s role is to ensure that DRC\/DDG have a rigorous M&E system in place through which we are able to monitor progress, document lessons learned and adapt and improve programme design\/implementation where needed. The M&E Manager reports to EU Programme Manager and the Country Director for Nigeria. The M&E Manager works in close collaboration with Regional M&E coordinator (based in Abidjan), the Global Risk Education Advisor and Global Armed Violence Reduction Representative, and liaises with other Managers (e.g livelihoods, armed violence reduction and mine action) and their teams. The M&E Manager supervises and line manages the M&E officers in Yola, Mubi and Maiduguri.<\/p>\n
\nTo achieve the position\u2019s objectives the M&E Manager will perform the following tasks and responsibilities:<\/p>\n\n

\nDuty station: Yola or Maiduguri, Nigeria with frequent travel to project sites in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa State Duration: 12 months with possibility of renewal, subject to performance
