\nIn the course of 2014 and early 2015, Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS), more commonly as Boko Haram intensified its attacks on the civilian population in Nigeria, with tactics developing from hit-and-run attacks, to hit-and-hold attacks in which JAS managed to establish and maintain control over large swaths of territory. The consultant will contribute to fulfilling UNICEF’s responsibility to support sub sector coordination for child protection sub sector. The consultant will work closely government and non-government child protection actors to ensure effective coordination, with the Federal and State co-chairs to enhance their capacity to lead the child protection sub working groups and with UNHCR and UNFPA to ensure strong linkages with the Protection Sector Working Group and the GBV sub working group. The consultancy will be based in Abuja with frequent travel to Borno, Adamawa and Yobe.<\/p>\n
