\nConsultant Role Description
\nThe Consultant role is the power-house of the team \u2013 integral to the project, taking a \u201cget it right first time\u201d approach to research, analysis and output. The Consultant\u2019s key role involves ensuring sound data collection and analysis, interviewing, presenting and supporting the manager in basic project management tasks. Consultants will also apply these skills and drive outside the project environment to support and develop our practice.<\/p>\n
\nRoles and Responsibilities
\nProject Delivery & Management<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Keeps abreast of industry issues (e.g. regulation, drivers, threats etc.), understands their relevance to assigned projects and forms an opinion on target\/client business.
\n\u2022 Forms an opinion\/point of view and articulates client\u2019s issues\/current state from available documentation e.g. strategy document, business plan, procedures manuals, organograms etc.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Able to scope and execute primary research using relevant research providers.
\n\u2022 Aware of key sources of data \u2013 where to find it, how to access it etc. \u2013 and able to identify\/find new sources of data specific to a given project (incl. market sources and previous projects).
\n\u2022 Aware of alternative methods for data gathering e.g. interviewing to verify\/supplement published market research.
\n\u2022 Aware of all internal and external data sources and their limitations.
\n\u2022 Able to synthesize key messages and trends and their implications for the client from large volumes of data (client\/external).
\n\u2022 Sense-checks and validates research and work output with other data sources.
\n\u2022 Presents data accurately and completely \u2013 \u201cRight first time\u201d approach.
\n\u2022 Demonstrates ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses.
\n\u2022 Communicates effectively with team members \u2013 e.g. changes to hypotheses, data problems, new issues, timing<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Understands drivers of revenue and profitability.
\n\u2022 Understands key ratios \u2013 e.g. profitability margins.

\n\u2022 Data manipulation using simple formula and techniques \u2013 e.g. vlookups, pivot tables.

\n\u2022 Understands the operations consulting environment and roles of various parties within it.
\n\u2022 Displays effective time management, prioritizes issues appropriately and meets agreed timelines.
\n\u2022 Shows good interpersonal skills and ability to manage\/develop less experienced team members.
\n\u2022 Demonstrates agility in working on various sectors and varied\/multiple projects
\nEducational Requirements:
\n\u2022 First Degree in relevant field
\n\u2022 MBA\/MSc (with business\/accounting\/finance\/operations orientation) is desirable
\n\u2022 ACCA or other accredited accounting qualification is desirable
\n\u2022 PMP or other project management certification is desirable
\n\u2022 Lean\/Six-Sigma\/ISO or other business process\/quality-related certification is desirable<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Minimum of three years\u2019 experience in Operations consulting in a professional services environment or three year relevant experience in a large\/global organization.
\n\u2022 Experience working outside the Operations will be an added advantage.
\n\u2022 Experience in building and maintaining strong relations with senior level clients and key industry contacts.<\/p>\n
