We promote family-friendly flexible working opportunities, where operational and security needs allow.<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Title:<\/b> IT Support Officer<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Category<\/b>\u00a0 Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Operations and Corporate Services)<br \/>\n<b>Job Subcategory<\/b>\u00a0 Information Technology Services<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities) <\/b><br \/>\n<b>Main purpose of job:<\/b><br \/>\nTo work as Information Technology Support Officer in the management section of the<br \/>\nBritish High Commission.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\nRoles and responsibilities \/ what will the jobholder be expected to achieve<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain and support the BHCs IT platform including both Software and Hardware<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the UK IT Helpdesk teams and other third parties to assist in resolving problems.<\/li>\n<li>Operate as the BHC Abuja IT Team Leader and directly line manage all Deputy IT Support Officers (DITSO\u2019s).<\/li>\n<li>Provide a focal point for users IT related queries.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the IT shared mailbox to ensure all problems are resolved in a timely fashion and to the IT teams SLA\u2019s.<\/li>\n<li>Help ensure the security of IT systems and report any potential breaches of security.<\/li>\n<li>Support and maintain support and maintain a variety of services to include VOIP telephony, data and video conferencing services<\/li>\n<li>Support the BHC Unclassified Internet and its infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with provision and support of BHC supplied mobile phones , wireless network and wireless devices<\/li>\n<li>Ensure established processes for IT support are followed at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Provide IT support to remote users and 3rd party customers.O<\/li>\n<li>Complete the IT Audit in line with FCO guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Act as a budget monitor for the IT Team.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support for the BHC SharePoint website as a Power User.<\/li>\n<li>Perform annual Staff Appraisal for managed team.<\/li>\n<li>Act as backup staff for external internet service providers.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with any other ad-hoc IT related tasks within the High Commission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Essential qualifications and experience <\/b><br \/>\nPrevious experince in using Microsof Vista , Microsoft Office 2007, Windows Network , Windows 10, Office 365, IP networking, Internet and Intranet, VIOP technologies, Users Helpdesk Support as well as training users<\/p>\n<p><b>Desirable qualifications and experience <\/b><br \/>\nRecognized IT qualification is desirable<br \/>\n<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Required competencies <\/b><br \/>\nChanging and Improving, Making Effective Decisions, Collaborating and Partnering, Managing a Quality Service<br \/>\n<b>Grade<\/b> B3 (L)<br \/>\n<b>Type of Position<\/b> Permanent<br \/>\n<b>Region<\/b> Africa<br \/>\n<b>Country\/Territory<\/b> Nigeria<br \/>\n<b>Location (City)<\/b>\u00a0 Abuja<br \/>\n<b>Number of vacancies<\/b> 1<br \/>\n<b>Starting monthly salary<\/b> () N493,126<br \/>\n<b>Start Date<\/b>\u00a0 1 August 2016<\/p>\n<p><b>Additional information <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Due to the nature of the role it is necessary that any applicant be security cleared to confidential<\/li>\n<li>status, or demonstrate that they can easily obtain such clearance. Clearance is<\/li>\n<li>most easily obtained by UK nationals with at least 3 years residence in the<\/li>\n<li>past 10 years in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada or New Zealand. Nationals of<\/li>\n<li>the latter four countries may also be able to get clearance.
