Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, non-political, non-sectarian organization. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in under served communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations.<\/p>\n<p>International Medical Corps has been operating in Nigeria since November 2013. It currently has its country office in Abuja and field offices in Kano, Sokoto and Maiduguri where it is implementing emergency Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) projects, building capacity of local health systems and structures, ensuring the provision of quality, accessible Nutrition and Health Care for Children under five years of age.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the following vacant positions below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Health Officer<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong> Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nJob Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the direct supervision of the Health Manager, the Health Officer will be responsible for supervision of direct implementation of the Health Field activities in the various communities\/IDP camps in Maiduguri, Borno State.<\/li>\n<li>He\/She will closely work with the Health team, partners, IDPs and all stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of safe Health services in the assigned area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Main Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Overall management and supervision of the community health volunteers\/workers assigned to various communities in Maiduguri<\/li>\n<li>Ensure regular coordination with the State Ministry of Health and the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency<\/li>\n<li>Ensure an appropriate assessment of the health facilities to be supported by the MoH and document needs in terms of essential drugs supply, training and any other area that can be supported by IMC<\/li>\n<li>Work as the liaison person between IMC and the Health facilities supported by IMC through the State Ministry of Health<\/li>\n<li>Work with the Health Manager to develop and implement appropriate tools for drugs consumption monitoring in the supported health facilities<\/li>\n<li>Support the Health Manager in conducting regular supportive supervision to the supported health facilities<\/li>\n<li>Work with the Health Manager and M&amp;E team to carry out regular assessments and draft concept notes on the health needs in target communities.<\/li>\n<li>Work with Health Manager to provide regular follow and supervision of contractors engaged in the rehabilitation of health facilities in the target communities.<\/li>\n<li>Work with Health Manager and the M&amp;E team to design templates, construction contracts for health centres rehabilitation, and a system for monitoring the progress of works and performance of hired contractor.<\/li>\n<li>Developing a participatory community led approach for the management of rehabilitated health facilities<\/li>\n<li>Plan, organise and facilitate trainings for the health staff in the supported facilities as well as community health workers as per identified training needs.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organization\u2019s Code of Conduct<\/li>\n<li>Ensure submission of weekly, monthly and inputs to the quarterly\/donor progress reports to the Health Manager and\/or project management team in a timely manner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualification, Knowledge and Skills Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Health Science, Nursing, or any related field<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience implementing health programs for displaced populations<\/li>\n<li>Three (3) years working experience in health programs, preferably with an INGO<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience implementing capacity building programs for health partners<\/li>\n<li>Strong skills in drugs consumption monitoring ( designing and implementing tools to this effect)<\/li>\n<li>Experience in dealing with local contractors (follow up and supervision skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: WASH Assistant<br \/>\nLocation: <\/strong>Maiduguri<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the supervision of WASH Officer, the WASH assistant will be responsible to participate in hygiene campaigns, to participate in house to house Hygiene promotion, and to prepare written material for the field, elaborate clear and adapt message for beneficiaries, as well as oversee the hygiene promotion and other WASH activities conducted by the community hygiene volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>The WASH assistant will also take an active role in identification of beneficiaries and distribution of WASH NFIs to target beneficiaries in assigned communities.<\/li>\n<li>They will also support the WASH technician in the day to day supervision and follow up of infrastructure work that is implemented by IMC through contractors at community level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nThe WASH Assistant will be responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Selection and training of the hygiene promoters (VCM).<\/li>\n<li>Collection of bio data for both VCMs and beneficiaries in communities.<\/li>\n<li>Input beneficiaries\u2019 data into spread sheet in preparation for distribution of NFI kits in communities.<\/li>\n<li>Train and monitor VCMs on how to conduct hygiene promotion sessions and fill their log sheets properly document topics discussed, advice provided, document issues of concern for IMC follow up action, number of attendees to sessions, etc\u2026<\/li>\n<li>Collection of VCM log sheet on monthly basis and certifying work done by VCMs.<\/li>\n<li>Identification of the most appropriate messages regarding the target population.<\/li>\n<li>Organise training sessions and participate in facilitation in IDP camps and host communities.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate the necessary material needed for a campaign\/activity.<\/li>\n<li>Mobilise the community on change of behaviour regarding hygiene practices.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in hygiene campaigns, doing shows in schools and at community level and IDP camps in close coordination with community volunteers<\/li>\n<li>Actively participate alongside community volunteers in identifying locations\/sites for WASH infrastructures (latrines construction\/rehabilitation, borehole drilling\/rehabilitation, etc) in the beneficiary communities.<\/li>\n<li>Animate focus group, giving clear messages on good hygiene practice.<\/li>\n<li>Report the progress of the work to the supervisor and the Head of project<\/li>\n<li>Report possible problems or conflict during the activities or any other issues that requires IMC follow up\/ action<\/li>\n<li>Conduct House hold assessments.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct the Distribution of water, hygiene and sanitation items.<\/li>\n<li>Collection of water sample from household and source and also conduct quality tests using the delaqua KIT<\/li>\n<li>Write daily reports on VCMs evaluation, water testing and NFI distribution.<\/li>\n<li>Relating closely with VCMs to identify informal settlements in host communities.<\/li>\n<li>Relate with M &amp; E in providing accurate data for impact analysis during post distribution survey and also to input into monthly and quarterly reports<\/li>\n<li>Regular reporting of Hygiene Promotion activities to supervisor\/ WASH Officer<\/li>\n<li>Provide support to other areas of the department as may be required by the supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education, Knowledge and Skills Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of Bachelor Degree or HND in public health, social sciences, education, or related fields<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Two (2) to Three (3) years of experience working with an NGO<\/li>\n<li>Experience in hygiene promotion in local communities, with children and \/>\nLocation:<\/strong> Maiduguri<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nJob Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the Supervision of the Emergency Program Coordinator, the WASH Manager will be responsible for designing, planning and providing technical leadership in the implementation of IMC WASH activities.<\/li>\n<li>He\/She will closely work with the WASH team, IDPs and all stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of safe WASH services in the assigned areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Main Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nProgramme Management:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To take the lead in designing, managing and implementing IMC WASH programmes in Nigeria<\/li>\n<li>To promote community participation and ownership through liaising with beneficiary communities, establishing, training and supporting community engagement and ensuring that activities are implemented to reflect coverage and prioritized needs.<\/li>\n<li>Support identification of appropriate new activities in consultation with field staff, local communities, local authorities and organizations operational in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Support the WASH teams in developing and implementing acceptable WASH infrastructure designs, using appropriate technology where possible<\/li>\n<li>Support the WASH teams in developing Bill of Quantities (BOQs) for all WASH infrastructure being undertaken by International Medical Corps Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Support the Emergency Programme Coordinator in planning and programme development and application of management tools including the Budget Monitoring Tool.<\/li>\n<li>Support the WASH Team in developing relevant Training Modules and Monitoring Tools to be used for Community Trainings.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute towards development of relevant WASH policies, protocols and guidelines to be implemented within the WASH programme at country level.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute towards development of programme implementation approaches, strategies and the overall Country Programme constructions, consultancies and conduct technical evaluation of the same.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Coordination:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with local government procedures (e.g. site selection) and do not duplicate or interfere with activities proposed or carried out by the UN or other NGO<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with other organizations engaged in similar activities in Nigeria, including the government authorities, UN and other NGO<\/li>\n<li>Liaise closely with the Emergency programme coordinator to ensure good integration and synergy of all programme activities.<\/li>\n<li>Represent International Medical Corps in all External Related Forums when called upon by the Programme Coordinators or the Country Director.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Capacity Building and Human Resource Management:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Directly manage the WASH Field team and ensure that program activities are completed within the specified timeframe and to acceptable level of technical and program quality<\/li>\n<li>Conduct Annual staff appraisals to the field WASH Officer and WASH technician in collaboration with the Emergency Program Coordinator as well as review all appraisals for staff under the WASH Officer<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate staff training on areas of technical capacity gaps as captured in the appraisals<\/li>\n<li>Support field WASH Team in capacity building of the target communities, community volunteers and local authority where necessary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reporting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compile data\/ information for WASH related donor reports in close coordination with field teams, the M&amp;E Officer\/ Manager and the Emergency Program Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Support the WASH team to deliver weekly updates in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Compile all WASH Monthly Reports ( internal)<\/li>\n<li>Work with M&amp;E team to develop WASH Indicator Monitoring and Evaluation Tools and review the same regularly to adjust to program changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education, Knowledge and Skills Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B.Engr. in Civil\/Water\/Environmental Engineering or related field (Master&#8217;s degree preferred or professional certifications in lieu of Master\u2019s degree)<\/li>\n<li>At least three (3) years\u2019 experience of WASH project management preferably with an international NGO<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 2 years of WASH program management in emergencies ( West Africa experience an asset)<\/li>\n<li>Experience of contract management highly desirable<\/li>\n<li>Technical design skills using AutoCAD or Arch CAD, and WaterCAD or any other hydraulic modelling software<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working with communities and community-based organizations<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Emergency Program Coordinator, the Health Manager will be responsible for designing, planning and providing technical leadership in the implementation of IMC Health activities.<\/li>\n<li>He\/She will closely work with the Health team, IDPs and all stakeholders (mainly Ministry of Health\/ Primary Healthcare Development Agency) to ensure efficient delivery of safe Health services in the assigned areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Main Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nProgramme Management:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To take the lead in designing, managing and implementing IMC Health programs in Nigeria<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the Emergency Program Coordinator, senior management and field teams to determine the operational needs of the medical\/health program<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the Emergency Program Coordinator to determine the training needs of IMC and health program partner\u2019s staff and develop a capacity building plan to address the gaps.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the national health authorities and relevant international health agencies for the development of an approved curriculum to meet training needs as identified in the project area<\/li>\n<li>Work with the program team and health teams to design and implement a reporting system to monitor and evaluate the objectives, indicators and outcomes of the country programs as well as trends in mortality and morbidity<\/li>\n<li>Work with government health authorities and international agencies such as WHO to ensure implementation of standardized national health information systems<\/li>\n<li>Work with the Emergency Program Coordinator, field teams, partner agencies and national health authorities for outbreak preparedness and contingency planning<\/li>\n<li>Work with Emergency Program Coordinator, senior management and field teams to plan for future program directions in terms of beneficiary needs, new sites, and \/ or new programs<\/li>\n<li>Work with Emergency program coordinator and management team to draft concepts for future funding following the protocols and formats of each relevant donor<\/li>\n<li>Work with field teams and logistics to procure drugs in a timely manner to responsible for providing support to the WASH team on the hardware components of the WASH program including construction and drilling\/rehabilitation of water points especially in the areas of BOQ development, following up and day to day supervision of field works to ensure contractors are delivering quality infrastructures including but not limited to latrines, water points, health centers, etc<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nMain Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with WASH Officer to conduct continual review of the designs and functionality of the water supply systems (and other water points) to ensure efficient operation as well as reliability and safe water distribution.<\/li>\n<li>Act as the main technical person in the development of BoQs for all WASH works on the various projects including but not limited to latrines construction, water points drilling and rehabilitation, and the rehabilitation of health centers.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the WASH Officer to design templates, construction contracts for WASH related works, and a system for monitoring the progress of works and performance of hired contractor.<\/li>\n<li>Provide rigorous supervision of WASH hardware works in the various communities and projects ( latrines construction, water points, and Health centres rehabilitation)<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical supervision to contractors undertaking various IMC works in the communities and ensure delivered work is up to standard as required by IMC<\/li>\n<li>Review technical reports from the various contractors and provide recommendations to the WASH Officer as to whether the delivered infrastructures meet the required standards and quality by IMC<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical inputs in assessments for new project areas<\/li>\n<li>Provide Women\u2019s Center Case Worker will be responsible for case management and psychosocial support of vulnerable women, including survivors of violence, in one of the project sites in Maiduguri<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support Volunteers to conduct community outreach and provide basic emotional support and referrals to survivors<\/li>\n<li>Provide direct, one-on-one and ongoing case management services, including safety planning<\/li>\n<li>Provide direct, one-on-one emotional support to survivors throughout case management process<\/li>\n<li>Provide referrals for survivors to other services, including accompaniment of survivors where appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Ensure survivor-centered services,
