{"id":2991,"date":"2010-02-09T00:37:13","date_gmt":"2010-02-08T23:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=2991"},"modified":"2010-10-23T17:10:54","modified_gmt":"2010-10-23T16:10:54","slug":"iita-mechanical-superintendent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/iita-mechanical-superintendent.html","title":{"rendered":"IITA Jobs in Nigeria: Mechanical Superintendent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-877\" title=\"iita\" src=\"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/iita.gif\" alt=\"iita\" width=\"144\" height=\"72\" \/>IITA<\/strong>, with Headquarters at Ibadan, is an International Agricultural Research Centre in the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), which is an association of about 50 countries, international and regional organizations, and private foundations.<\/p>\n<p>IITA seeks to increase agricultural production in a sustainable way in order to improve the nutritional status and well-being of people in tropical Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable candidates for the following positions at the Institute\u2019s Headquarters in Ibadan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MECHANICAL SUPERINTENDENT (<\/strong><strong><em>2-year renewable contract)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Successful candidate will:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Plan preventive, repair and maintenance of all water plants, drinking water place, Sewage and Swimming pool plants.<\/li>\n<li>Install and maintain multi-stage vertical turbine and surface Pumps and Blowers.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain associated appliances such as Aerators compressors and level control systems;<\/li>\n<li>Initiate treatment plans and supervise the supply of about 1.2 million litres of high quality drinking water per day.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise treatment and safe discharge of about 8,000 litres of waste water per day.<\/li>\n<li>Treat and maintain high quality Swimming pool water of about 385,000 litres.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Quality Control of all waters: Drinking, Sewage and Swimming Pool.<\/li>\n<li>Initiate procedures for purchase of spare parts and treatment chemicals.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise Water Treatment Operation and the maintenance staff.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualification and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BSc\/HND Mechanical\/Water Engineering plus minimum of five (5) years post-qualification working experience in a reputable water treatment plant.<\/p>\n<p>Must have good working knowledge of water plant maintenance and water treatment techniques.<\/p>\n<p>Candidate must have good interpersonal skills, be honest, trustworthy, hardworking and be able to coordinate shift duties, readiness to work overtime.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REMUNERATION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We offer highly competitive salary with equally attractive fringe benefits and excellent working conditions in a pleasant campus environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>METHOD OF APPLICATION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested qualified national applicants should forward their applications with a detailed curriculum vitae, the names and addresses of three professional referees (including telephone, fax and e-mail addresses, if available) and scanned copies of credentials not later than two weeks from the date of this publication.
