To prepare monthly Management Accounts and annual Financial Returns.To interface with Company\u2019s Management, Site Managements and Nigeria Authorities<\/p>\n<ul><\/ul>\n<p>He will report to the Finance Manager.<\/p>\n<p>The position is based in Lagos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Control the correct coding of accounts vouchers, their posting and filing.<\/li>\n<li> Control timely payment of creditor\u2019s invoices.<\/li>\n<li> Control the bank movements and their reconciliation with bank statements.<\/li>\n<li> Control the cash movements (Head Office &amp; sites) and conduct surprise cash counts.<\/li>\n<li> Look after the Companies interests regarding Nigerian authorities and external auditors.<\/li>\n<li> Reconcile accounts with debtors, creditors and Group companies.<\/li>\n<li> Produce monthly Management Accounts and clarify same with sites.<\/li>\n<li> Assist external auditors in their task of auditing the Company<\/li>\n<li> Supervise regular stock checks<\/li>\n<li> Produce annual financial reports.<\/li>\n<li> Ensure compliance with Company\u2019s accounts and administration procedures.<\/li>\n<li> Monitor changes in legislation and publications regarding accountancy and financial matters.<\/li>\n<li> Assist in the preparation of standardized accounting procedures in the Company.<\/li>\n<li> Liaise with other Company\u2019s departments to ensure smooth interaction with Accounts Department.<\/li>\n<li>Deputize for the Finance &amp; Administration Manager when he is not available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<li>Minimum qualifications include an advanced certificate in accountancy recognized in Nigeria, preferably \u201cChartered Accountant\u201d with working experience in the construction industry. &#8211; ICAN<\/li>\n<li>Good Health status. Demonstrate the energy level, authority, professionalism and honesty required of a fully committed and effective Chief Accountant in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Interested in long-term employment.<\/li>\n<li>Strong accounting ability must be proven including profound knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, foreign exchange regulations and labour laws<\/li>\n<li>Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word and have basic understanding of standard accounts software packages.<\/li>\n<li>Must be experienced in preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial reports including the handling of internal and external audits.<\/li>\n<li>Must demonstrate an ability to communicate at all levels and show leadership skills.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, creditors and Nigerian authorities.<\/li>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.adexen.com\/offer_NGA0325_senior-accountant.html\">Apply online through Adexen Nigeria<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jobs in Nigeria by Adexen (Job description) The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following: To control and manage the day-to-day accounts transactions.
