OCHA also ensures there is a framework within which each actor can contribute to the overall response effort.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong> Driver\/Clerk<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nBackground<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the guidance and supervision of the Administrative &amp; Finance Analyst in Abuja and direct supervisor, the Head of Sub-Office in Maiduguri, the Driver provides reliable and safe driving services ensuring high accuracy of work.<\/li>\n<li>The Driver demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.<\/li>\n<li>The Driver provides driving services to the operations and programme staff in the Country Office (CO), Consultants and Experts and UN staff on mission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Summary of Key Functions:\n<ul>\n<li>Provision of reliable and secure driving services<\/li>\n<li>Proper use of vehicle<\/li>\n<li>Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Availability of documents\/ supplies<\/li>\n<li>Ensures provision of reliable and secure driving services by a) driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items and b) meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, visa and customs formalities arrangement when required.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures availability of all the required documents\/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, and map of the city\/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Impact of Results:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The key results have an impact on the accurate, safe and timely execution of the CO services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies<\/strong><br \/>\nCorporate Competencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates commitment to OCHA\u2019s mission, vision and values.<\/li>\n<li>Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Functional Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge Management and Learning<\/li>\n<li>Shares knowledge and experience<\/li>\n<li>Provides helpful feedback and advice to others in the office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Development and Operational Effectiveness:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates excellent knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates excellent knowledge of protocol<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates excellent knowledge of security issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership and Self-Management:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Focuses on result for the client<\/li>\n<li>Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude<\/li>\n<li>Remains calm, in control and good humored even under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Responds positively to critical feedback and differing points of views<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills and Experience<\/strong><br \/>\nEducation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Secondary Education.
