To meet the above needs, the program wishes to recruit a dynamic, skilled, committed, self-driven and results oriented individuals to fill the vacant position below:<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nJob Title:<\/strong> Senior Nursing Officer<strong><br \/>\nLocations: <\/strong>Anambra<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nResponsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In close collaboration with the facility medical officer, ensure the provision of quality, evidence based ART, PMTCT, prevention and TB services.<\/li>\n<li>Supervises the provision of skilled nursing procedures (i.e dressing changes).<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that medication administration is within the scope of practice of the licensee.<\/li>\n<li>Directly performs or monitors the provision of phlebotomy and\/or initiates intravenous infusions as ordered.<\/li>\n<li>Attends and participates in team conferences as requested.<\/li>\n<li>Acts as a team leader to assist with the provision and supervision of patient care in the health facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Charts notes and medication administration according to protocol.<\/li>\n<li>Supervises the provision of patient and family education.<\/li>\n<li>Exercises appropriate judgment and decision making skills.<\/li>\n<li>Mentors and ensures the maintenance of patient confidentiality.<\/li>\n<li>Reports significant changes in the patient\u2019s physical status to the RN and\/or to the medical provider.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the ART nurses to establish effective linkages and referral of patients within and outside the facility.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise community program staff and ensure achievement of targets as well as timely preparation and dissemination of reports.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that all disseminated protocols are strictly adhered to by site staff.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all services provided.<\/li>\n<li>Implement operational research protocols to answer important questions within AHF\u2019s treatment and prevention programs.<\/li>\n<li>Any other duty designated by the Nurse Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Key Result Areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quality of HIV treatment and TB services at the site.<\/li>\n<li>HIV prevention program indicators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\nEducation and Experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University graduate in Nursing-BSc or its Equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>MPH degree would be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>At least three years experience in HIV program management.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of minimum prevention package for Nigeria is highly essential.<\/li>\n<li>Must be highly organized and capable of effective multi-tasking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Communication Abilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent report writing, prompt and effective communication using charts and graphs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mathematical Skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other Skills and Abilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Required to travel to other locations within and other the State.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Sensitivity to ethics and confidentiality of HIV\/AIDS client issues<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of excel and PowerPoint programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Physical Demands:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Involved in training, support supervision, mentorship and team building exercises for other lab staff.<\/li>\n<li>Directly supervises laboratory technicians and other lab staff in running the Partec CD4, hematology and chemistry machines.
