We are seeking for suitably qualified candidate to fill the position below in an Hotel Division:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0IT Engineer<\/strong><br \/>\n<b>Department:<\/b> OTDS\/DIT\/USU<br \/>\n<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>SUMMARY OF POSITION:<\/b><br \/>\nThe IT Engineer assists students, faculty and staff to configure, repair and maintain Information Technology (IT) devices and their accessories. IT Engineer is responsible for general maintenance of the University\u2019s technology support systems.<br \/>\n<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>DETAILED LISTING OF RESPONSIBILITIES: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In essence, the IT Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of computer systems.<\/li>\n<li>Serving as a liaison between staff and the technology department to resolve issues.<\/li>\n<li>Answer students, staff, and faculty questions in person and via phone on all technical issues in regards to IT Support.<\/li>\n<li>Install the latest, industry grade software and antivirus packages to ensure computer\u2019s maximum protection from viruses.<\/li>\n<li>Providing on-site support for maintenance and repair of campus desktop\/laptop systems, software installations, network connectivity, and peripheral network equipment such as printers, scanners etc.<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshoots computer problems and determine source (hardware, software, user access, etc). Advice on appropriate action and solving hardware\/software faults.<\/li>\n<li>Installing and configuring computer systems.<\/li>\n<li>Repair and replacement of desktop\/laptop parts as required<\/li>\n<li>Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs.<\/li>\n<li>Establishing a good working relationship with other professionals in order to find solution of problems.<\/li>\n<li>Works one-on-one with students, faculty and staff on application projects.<\/li>\n<li>Documents resolutions for future reference.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties assigned by his supervisors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Requirements for the position:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science or relevant degree from a recognized tertiary institution in a relevant field, with 1 (one) year of experience.<\/li>\n<li>NYSC or NYSC Exemption Certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced knowledge of university supported applications.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to learn and support new technologies.<\/li>\n<li>Possess high level interpersonal communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)<\/li>\n<li>Certifications in MCSA, MCSE, CCNA and others are added advantages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Job Title: Assistant Manager F &amp; B<br \/>\nLocation:<\/b>Yola<br \/>\nDepartment: AUN Hotel<br \/>\nReport to: F&amp;Bs Manager<br \/>\nReport for: All F&amp;B Outlets Manager<b><br \/>\nSummary of Position<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Position Overview: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Assistant Manager manages all aspects of the department including but not limited to operations, planning, budgeting with hotel policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>The Assistant Manager provides leadership and support to all staff members of the Food and Beverages, implements and enforces the AUN Hotel Standards of Excellence in all areas supervised.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Job Summary:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist the Food &amp; Beverage Manager in the supervision of all Food and Beverage operations in order to ensure that the highest quality standards are met for food, service and cleanliness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Specific Duties<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Average Percent of Time: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>(15%): Train, supervise and schedule food and beverage staff in accordance with business needs, productivity and service standards.<\/li>\n<li>15%: Develop all F&amp;B outlet including Catering menus, i.e. Banquet Food and Beverage marketing strategies.<\/li>\n<li>20%: Implement new menus and promotions, such as holiday and special event promotions.<\/li>\n<li>10%: Utilize computer equipment to analyze, forecast, cost, and revenue reports and make decisions based on that information to ensure maximizing of profits.<\/li>\n<li>10%: Observe Food and Beverage outlet operations along with Catering Banquet &amp; Meeting and take needed action to ensure standards of product presentation and service are being maintained. Taste test Food and Beverage products for consistency.<\/li>\n<li>15%: Respond to guest inquiries and coordinate special arrangements and requests in Food and Beverage outlets with emphasis on Catering, all Banquets and outlets F&amp;B operations.<\/li>\n<li>10%: Assist outlet managers in coordinating services from support departments, such as maintaining adequate stock of linen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Other:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by AUN Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.<\/li>\n<li>Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.<\/li>\n<li>Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with AUN Hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Supportive Functions<\/b><br \/>\nIn addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit and observe competitive hotel and restaurant operations to keep abreast of marketing techniques and promotions.<\/li>\n<li>Perform duties of restaurant manager when necessary to ensure proper management coverage is maintained.<\/li>\n<li>Perform line employees job functions as needed under high volume and emergency situations.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability<\/b><br \/>\nThe individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of overall Food and Beverage industry, current market trends and federal, state and local laws pertaining to the hospitality industry, i.e. Department of Health and Sanitation regulations&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, empathy and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to move throughout the hotel property and continuously perform essential job functions.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in both English and Hausa (optional), both verbally and in writing.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to access, understand and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Position Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Hotel\/Restaurant Management<\/li>\n<li>Must be self-motivated, adaptable, mature and resilient<\/li>\n<li>Must have good oral and written communication skills.
