The scholarship aims to promote academic excellence and improve the skills of young Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2016\/2017 SPDC JOINT VENTURE UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP AWARD SCHEME<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nWho Can Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The merit-based scholarship is in two categories &#8211; the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award (OM)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>1.) National Merit Award (NM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is open to all Nigerians.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2.) Areas of Operation Merit Award, (OM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For Nigerians who are indigenes of SPDC\u2019s operational area in Abia, Bayelsa, Delta, Imo and Rivers States.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligible Applicants Must<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be citizens of Nigeria, currently enrolled in an accredited course in an NUC approved university in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Have gained admission during the 2015\/2016 academic session, and pursuing a first degree programme.<\/li>\n<li>Have a minimum of seven O\/Levels credits, including Mathematics and English.<\/li>\n<li>Be enrolled full-time, in a university in Nigeria at the undergraduate level with a minimum grade point average of 3.5 at the time of application (attach transcripts or official records).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>General Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1.)<\/strong>\u00a0Every applicants should have their personal valid email accounts (for consistent communication).<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.)\u00a0<\/strong>Candidates who meet the above eligibility criteria should apply. Scanned copies of the following documents should be attached to the application:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A recent passport-sized photograph of the applicant (i.e. jpeg format, not more than 200kilobytes);<\/li>\n<li>University or JAMB Admission Letter;<\/li>\n<li>Jamb Score<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;O&#8217; Level Result(s); and &#8216;A&#8217; Level \/OND \/NCE Result(s) as applicable; and<\/li>\n<li>Letter of Identification from State (showing Local Government) of Origin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3.)<\/strong>\u00a0Applicants for the Operational Area Award must also upload Scanned copies of letters of identification, (which must be duly stamped and signed) by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Paramount Ruler of the Community; and<\/li>\n<li>The Chairman of the Community Development or Executive Council (CDC or CEC) is also required of applicants for the Operational Area Awards (OM).<\/li>\n<li>The letters should be addressed to <strong>The Manager, Social Investment, Shell Petroleum Development Company, Prodeco 5, Room 10, Shell Industrial Area, Rumubiakani, Port Harcourt.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application Closing Date:\u00a0<\/strong>2nd December, 2016<\/p>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spdc-jv-scholarship.shell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Click here to apply online<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/s00.static-shell.com\/content\/dam\/royaldutchshell\/documents\/2016-2017-university-scholarship-press.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Click here for more information<\/strong><\/a><strong> (PDF)<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Each scanned document size must not exceed 200KB and the image format must be JPEG.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Shell does not demand payment from applicants.
