{"id":35343,"date":"2016-12-08T16:23:04","date_gmt":"2016-12-08T15:23:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=35343"},"modified":"2016-12-08T16:23:04","modified_gmt":"2016-12-08T15:23:04","slug":"norwegian-refugee-council-nrc-recruitment-graduate-hr-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/norwegian-refugee-council-nrc-recruitment-graduate-hr-officers.html","title":{"rendered":"Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Recruiting Graduates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people.<br \/>\nNRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the camp management, shelter, education, food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors.<\/p>\n<p>The Norwegian Refugee Council is recruiting to fill the job position below:<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Title: HR Officer<br \/>\nLocation:<\/b> Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\nThe HR Officer reports to the HR\/Admin Coordinator.<br \/>\n<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Generic Responsibilities<\/b><br \/>\nThese responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization<\/li>\n<li>Developing and implementing policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management.<\/li>\n<li>Developing with line managers HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements<\/li>\n<li>Analyzing training and development needs in conjunction with departmental managers and delivering trainings in line with NRC\u2019s policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with NRC policies and the local labour law in all procedures and processes.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support to supervisors and staffs to develop the skills and capabilities of staffs.<\/li>\n<li>Recruiting staff &#8211; this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates.<\/li>\n<li>Provide information to staff, supervisors and council on human resource and work related issues.<\/li>\n<li>Working closely with various departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Specific Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The HR Officer is expected to achieve the following during this contract period.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure reporting, documenting and payment of staff benefits, social security, taxes in line with NRC\u2019s HR policy<\/li>\n<li>administering payroll and maintaining employee records<\/li>\n<li>Prepare periodic HR reports.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support in determining the NRC staff training needs and organizing trainings to meet those needs.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with NRC\u2019s Code of conduct and HR policies by all staff<\/li>\n<li>Ensure a proper payroll and staff benefit administration<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the staff performance evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with relevant partners, suppliers, authorities, lawyers etc<\/li>\n<li>Dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Provide HR support in the NRC Field Office in recruitment, exit and induction of new staff.<\/li>\n<li>Provide advice on the incorporation of local labour laws with NRC\u2019s HR policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 2 years\u2019 experience working as a Human Resource Officer in a humanitarian\/recovery context<\/li>\n<li>Documented results related to the position\u2019s responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English and Hausa, both written and verbal<\/li>\n<li>High level competence in computer skills (Microsoft office Applications)<\/li>\n<li>Good university Degree from a reputable university.<\/li>\n<li>Professional degree would be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge about own leadership skills\/profile<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Personal Qualification: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant experience in HR and knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Powerpoint).<\/li>\n<li>Excellent inter personal and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in insecure environments<\/li>\n<li>Communicating with impact and respect<\/li>\n<li>All employees of the Norwegian Refugee Council should be able to adhere to our Codes of Conduct and the four organizational values: Dedicated, innovative, inclusive and accountable<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Highest standards of ethics and integrity<\/li>\n<li>Organised and a good planner and possess significant understanding of complex emergencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>We Offer<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Commencement: ASAP<\/li>\n<li>Contract period: 12month<\/li>\n<li>Salary\/benefits: According to NRC\u2019s directions<\/li>\n<li>Duty station: Maiduguri, Borno State<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><br \/>\n<\/b><br \/>\n<b>How to Apply<\/b><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates can submit their application letters and an updated CV&#8217;s to: <b>ng.vacancies@nrc.no<\/b> The title of the position (HR Officer &#8211; Maiduguri) must be indicated in the subject line of your e-mail.<\/p>\n<p><b>Note<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/li>\n<li>To apply at NRC is FREE!!!<\/li>\n<li>NRC does not ask for money or any form of favor for submission of application or employment.<\/li>\n<li>The Norwegian Refugee Council is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
