The Organisation acts before, during and after disasters and health emergencies to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people.<\/p>\n<p>The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, in its commitment to building strong National Societies and to supporting scaling up of National Societies\u2019 services to the most vulnerable populations, has established a Cluster office in Abuja to support five countries of Benin, Cote D\u2019Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and Togo as well as Liberia and Sierra Leone which are country offices.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the following vacant positions below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Senior Security Officer<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Location<\/strong>: Abuja<br \/>\nImmediate Supervisors: Head of Cluster (HOC)<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nJob Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To assist the Abuja Cluster in managing all matters related to security management.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Abuja Cluster in coordinating effective security processes and procedures that aim to further improve the Federations overall security management in the Cluster with a major focus on Nigeria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor and review Cluster travel security clearance requests.<\/li>\n<li>Provide newly arrived delegates, newly employed local staff, and visitors from abroad with up-to- date security briefing.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain a good working relationship with the staff of PNS&#8217;s, the ICRC, the NRCS, UN,<\/li>\n<li>INGOs, and with government authorities (military, police, civil and the government intelligence agencies), Liaise and coordinate with Private Security Provider in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise and ensure that security guards deployed undertake their duties on a 24\/7 basis in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Train security guards in relation to post orders, incl. access control, alarm response, fire etinguishers, and other standard safety equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Undertake other tasks assigned by HoC.<\/li>\n<li>Duties applicable to all staff<\/li>\n<li>Actively work towards the achievement of the Federation Secretariat&#8217;s goals<\/li>\n<li>Abide by and work in accordance with the Red Cross and Red Crescent principles<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other work related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Evaluate, monitor, and assist in improving the IFRC Security Minimum Security Requirement (MSR) compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate, monitor compliance with mandatory IFRC trainings (e-learning programs), and device<\/li>\n<li>mechanisms to ensure full compliance by all IFRC personnel (incl. integrated PNS personnel).<\/li>\n<li>In close coordination with RSC, SRSD, or Security Unit Geneva, organise training sessions for IFRC and NRCS staff on security &amp;amp; safety management.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the security and contingency plans are updated and rehearsed, on a regular basis (minimum bi- yearly).<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the security environment across the Cluster countries, and keep the HoC, Sub-regional security<\/li>\n<li>delegate, and Regional Security Coordinator informed of developments as well as major incidents and events in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and report on IFRC security incident and support the HoC and staff in addressing security incidents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Position Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nEducation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A relevant education at undergraduate level, e.g. BA, BSc, LLB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preferred:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Successfully completed the Stay Safe e-learning courses (basic and managers)<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 3 year\u2019s working experience in an emergency response unit (UN, commercial security, police, or military)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Required:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>UNDSS security certification programme (SCP) trained and qualified<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 3 year&#8217;s first-hand experience with IFRC security management system<\/li>\n<li>Robust in-country contextual understanding and operational experience<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment<\/li>\n<li>Self supporting in computers [Windows, Microsoft Office, database, e-mail (Outlook) etc.] and security technology (e.g. physical security measures, CCTV systems, HF &amp;amp; VHF radios, satellite communications).<\/li>\n<li>Valid driving license (light vehicles)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 5 years&#8217; working eperience in a humanitarian organization (e.g. UN,INGO, Red Cross\/Red Crescent Movement)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Knowledge and Skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Very good analytical skills in political, socio-economic, and security areas<\/li>\n<li>Good stress management skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Languages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fluently spoken and written English<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of another IFRC official language (French, Spanish or Arabic)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Senior Health Officer<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong> Abuja<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The scope of the Senior Health Officer position is to provide support to the five countries covered by the West Coast country support team; Benin, Cote d\u2019Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and Togo.<\/li>\n<li>S\/he shall be based in Abuja and as a secondary responsibility, be supporting the Nigeria Red Cross Society (NRCS) in their day to day Health and care related activities. His\/her primary responsibility will be to implement the Cluster Health strategy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The primary duties of the Focal point for Health and Care are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support capacity building of the NS Health and Care departments at Headquarters and branch levels.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the NS Counterparts to contribute towards integrated disaster preparedness, Risk<\/li>\n<li>Reduction, operation response, Resilience building and recovery.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with and encourage NS to engage effectively with other key health sector players at national level,<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the National and Regional spread and severity of current epidemic diseases and proactively communicate emerging health related issues to focal points of contact as appropriate, in collaboration with relevant agencies.<\/li>\n<li>Represent IFRC in relevant health sector forums and networks and share among these sectors and forums, information about RC\/RC technical know-how developed and lessons learned.<\/li>\n<li>Have the responsibility to support the NSs in proposal development for funding with an aim towards expanding the current health portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with partners to identify opportunities for engagement, to work with the NS to enhance its visibility vis-\u00e0vis the Ministries of Health and relevant departments in the five countries;<\/li>\n<li>Support regular monitoring and evaluation of country level community based health programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Support development of a training curriculum\/strategy for the NS Health Staff at Headquarter and<\/li>\n<li>Branch levels covering areas such as: community based health and nutrition approaches and topics as well as in project planning, budgeting, reporting and proposal writing.<\/li>\n<li>Document best practices and lessons learnt in community based health programme implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build Sciences, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Required:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master&#8217;s Degree in Public Health or related Discipline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Minimum of 2 years\u2019 experience in leading and managing public health programs in a humanitarian organization in developing countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Required:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good understanding of the humanitarian environment, strong analytical skills and capacity to translate analysis into strategy and planning.<\/li>\n<li>A very good track record of networking, influencing and negotiating and building relationships effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Eperience in proposal development, report writing, and developing budgets.<\/li>\n<li>Eperience of field based implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Eperience of financial
