Our mandate is to empower rural farmers, contribute to food security in Nigeria and provide a healthy means of engaging people with Agriculture from a profit-driven perspective.We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Customer Relations \/Front Desk Officer<\/strong><b><br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/b>Lagos<br \/>\n<b>Job Description<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Customer Relations\/ Front Desk Officer is to act as a liaison in providing product information to our clientele; manage large amounts of customer enquiries, identifying and assessing customer\u2019s needs in order to achieve satisfaction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Front Desk Management<\/li>\n<li>Manager customer enquiries via communication media channels (incl. of phone calls) assigned in order to provide appropriate information as directed by the Communications unit<\/li>\n<li>Build sustainable relationships and with Farmcrowdy\u2019s clientele base<\/li>\n<li>Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using assigned software applications<\/li>\n<li>Follow Communication procedures and guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Identify and assess customers\u2019 needs to achieve satisfaction<\/li>\n<li>Take the extra mile to engage Farmcrowdy\u2019s clientele<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Customer support experience as a client service representative<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with CRM systems and practices<\/li>\n<li>Excellent phone contact handling skills and active listening<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills (both written &amp; oral) &amp; presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to Learn<\/li>\n<li>Goal Oriented Focus<\/li>\n<li>Attentiveness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Technical Field Specialist &#8211; Cassava<\/strong><b><br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/b>Lagos<b><br \/>\nContract duration:<\/b> Minimum 2 years.<b><br \/>\nReports to:<\/b> VP, Operations &amp; CEO<b><br \/>\nThe Role<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Cassava Specialist is responsible for the Cassava Farm Operations.<\/li>\n<li>The Cassava Specialist will play a key role in planning, organizing and implementing the production and commercialization plans for all Farmcrowdy\u2019s Cassava Project Farms.<\/li>\n<li>He\/She will be managing a combined team of Farm Managers, Farm Extension Workers and also the Farmers.<\/li>\n<li>The role requires a reliable, trustworthy, conscientious, self-motivated professional who is always prepared to be a \u201chands on\u201d practical farm manager when required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Duties<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Farm Management: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To co-ordinate management of all Cassava farm operations within the region.<\/li>\n<li>Perform long and short term project management to optimize farm profit and minimize loss<\/li>\n<li>Manage the initial set-up of the farm from bush clearing, irrigation installations and building up your team<\/li>\n<li>Manage all day-to-day operations in for cassava farming<\/li>\n<li>Manage seed acreage contract allocations to farmers<\/li>\n<li>Land management of cropping systems, nutrients, pests, tillage and other resources<\/li>\n<li>To increase yield by variety selection and soil improvement practices<\/li>\n<li>Active involvement in Selection of Farm lands, Soil tests etc<\/li>\n<li>Co-ordinate an integrated pest management system<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate financial and physical performance of the farms<\/li>\n<li>Successful implementation of short and long term business plans in cooperation with the management team and ground staff<\/li>\n<li>Develop a cost effective and environmentally sound method of enhancing yields<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>People Management: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To create a stable workforce by providing leadership for effective management of the staff and operations of the region.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate Training programs; Develop and Deliver appropriate training to both Farm Managers and Farm Extension Workers; Coordinate training needs assessment<\/li>\n<li>Risk Assessment and Management<\/li>\n<li>Set-up agreed KPIs for the region and ensure targets are achieved<\/li>\n<li>Financial Reports on all Farming activities<\/li>\n<li>Conflict Resolution<\/li>\n<li>Compile and Control Yearly Budgets for the region<\/li>\n<li>To provide coaching and training on developing production management programmes which will enhance profitability<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the Farm Projects\u2019 evaluation program, measuring for effectiveness and productivity of operation areas. Prepare reports as assigned.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain regular communication with the Farm Managers and the Farm Extension workers<\/li>\n<li>Liaise and interact with Farmers\u2019 co-operatives\/ Farming communities located within the region<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Core Competencies<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Ideal candidates for this role will have: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree with specialization in Plant breeding, Agronomy or related fields with at least 5 years experience<\/li>\n<li>At least 10 years of hands-on experience in agricultural processes and farms operations with focus on Cassava Production Management and Commercialization.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to provide evidence on a previous Cassava farm project\/research work in agriculture with reference from the farm management about a successful out-come<\/li>\n<li>Must have knowledge of Irrigation Farming<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions and solve problems<\/li>\n<li>Effective leader and team-player receptive to feedback and willing to learn new things and share knowledge and skills; embracing continuous improvement<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational and negotiating skills<\/li>\n<li>Language proficiency (English &amp; other Indigenous Languages)<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to Travel<\/li>\n<li>Must have working knowledge of other crops such as Rice; Maize; Tomato and or livestock peculiar to given regions<\/li>\n<li>Must demonstrate ownership of an Agric Support Network<\/li>\n<li>Must belong to a Professional Body (Group) that is related\/affiliated to Agriculture<\/li>\n<li>Must have access to Federal (State) Ministries and or Parastatals which are responsible for Agriculture (Products, Equipment and otherwise)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Note: <\/b>The cover letter must include a recent passport photograph attached to the top right hand corner page of your cover letter.<b> <\/b><br \/>\n<b><\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>How to Apply<br \/>\n<\/b>Interested and qualified candidates should send a cover letter along with your CV to: <b>jobs@farmcrowdy.com<\/b> with Job Position you are applying for, e.g, &#8216;Application for Technical Field Cassava Specialist\u2019<br \/>\n<b>Application Deadline: <\/b>27th April, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Farmcrowdy\u00a0is an agric-tech platform that gives Nigerians the opportunity to participate in Agriculture by connecting farm sponsors with real farmers for the purpose of producing high-quality farm produce.
