With nearly 100 hotels across 8 countries including South Africa, Zambia, Nigeria, Namibia, Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda, Protea Hotels has the largest strategic footprint throughout the Continent and is highly committed to delivering every guest with a personalized service experience.\u00a0 The Protea Hotels portfolio comprises of two brands, the mid-up market Protea Hotels by Marriott (including the lifestyle brand Protea Hotel Fire &amp; Ice! by Marriott) brand and the superior deluxe African Pride Hotels brand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The hotel Graduate trainee is to always make sure that all staff do everything they can to make sure the hotel&#8217;s staff produce reasonable results and make guest stay pleasant and comfortable, while making sure that the hotel is profitable and efficient.<\/li>\n<li>Train new staff, resolve employee conflicts, and help guests with any issues they might have.<\/li>\n<li>Report directly to the Manager.<\/li>\n<li>The Graduate trainee will be responsible for staffing, and training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for planning and training employees<\/li>\n<li>Promoting and marketing the business<\/li>\n<li>Supervising staff<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and update company databases<\/li>\n<li>Update office policies as needed<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a company calendar and schedule appointments<\/li>\n<li>Book meeting rooms as required<\/li>\n<li>Distribute and store correspondence (e.g. letters, emails and packages)<\/li>\n<li>Prepare reports and presentations with statistical data, as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Min Required Experience:<\/li>\n<li>3 year(s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Min Qualification:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree\/HND<\/li>\n<li>Desired Courses:<\/li>\n<li>Not Specified<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience\/Qualifications\/Required Skills<\/li>\n<li>Minimum HND<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 3 years cognate experience<\/li>\n<li>Reliability and stamina<\/li>\n<li>Our hotels have a lot of moving parts, from guests to maintenance, to events to budgets and scheduling, the hotel manager need to keep it all organized.<\/li>\n<li>Problem solving.<\/li>\n<li>Customer service.<\/li>\n<li>Accounting skills, hotel administration, economics, marketing, housekeeping, food service management, hotel maintenance and engineering, as well as knowledge of computers.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent listening skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to stay and direct in a stressful situation and being able to communicate with many different types of people.<\/li>\n<li>Making sure that guests are happy and that staff is getting what they need to do their job is crucial.<\/li>\n<li>Work with budgets, planning, creating schedules and supervising operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should forward their detailed CV&#8217;s to:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"mailto:hr@lagosproteahotels.com\">hr@lagosproteahotels.com<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All applications should be forwarded on or before <span data-term=\"goog_1462206857\">30 May.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Protea Hotels, by Marriott is one of the most widely recognized hospitality brand in Africa with the most extensive footprint.
