CRS re-established its presence in Nigeria in 2000 and currently focuses on agriculture, governance, peace building and Health\/HIV programming.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the following vacant positions below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Chief of Party, Rural Resilience Program<\/strong><br \/>\nRequisition Number: I3355<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0 Based in Abuja, with travel among field locations in Nigeria.<br \/>\nPosition Type: Full Time<br \/>\nHours Per Week: 40<br \/>\nRegular, Short Term OR Temporary: Regular<br \/>\nReports To: Deputy Country Representative, Agriculture and Livelihoods<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CRS is preparing for an anticipated multi-million dollar, multi-year USAID\/Nigeria Rural Resilience Program, which will support poverty reduction for vulnerable households in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>This effort will contribute to CRS\u2019 agriculture and livelihoods signature program area and ongoing efforts to promote resilience, recovery and development within Nigeria and neighboring countries around the Lake Chad Basin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Chief of Party (COP) will have overall responsibility for the Rural Resilience Program.<\/li>\n<li>Responsibilities include meeting project objectives and deliverables while providing overall leadership in technical, administrative, operational, and management aspects.<\/li>\n<li>The COP will act as the primary relationship manager for the project with USAID\/Nigeria, Government of Nigeria, partners and external stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide overall strategic guidance, leadership, management and general technical oversight of the entire program, with a strong focus on achieving defined results.<\/li>\n<li>Act as the key liaison with USAID, Government of Nigeria, all implementing partners and stakeholders involved with the program.<\/li>\n<li>Represent the program and present its work nationally and globally to CRS leadership, the donor, partners, and other stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Lead, manage, supervise and mentor program staff and consortium partners.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure high-quality monitoring and evaluation of program impact and timely submission of donor reports and deliverables.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with CRS and USAID policies and requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Agency-Wide Competencies (for all CRS Staff)<\/strong><br \/>\nThese are rooted in the mission, values, and guiding principles of CRS and used by each staff member to fulfill his or her responsibilities and achieve the desired results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serves With Integrity:<\/li>\n<li>Models Stewardship<\/li>\n<li>Cultivates Constructive Relationships<\/li>\n<li>Promotes Learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Masters in international development, management, agriculture, economics or other relevant field.<\/li>\n<li>At least 10 years of international management experience<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years\u2019 experience in agriculture-based and rural development<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years in a senior management role for USAID-funded activities strongly preferred<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience managing USAID-funded assistance projects of a similar size and scope in developing countries; USAID experience preferred; at least 4 years in a field based position.<\/li>\n<li>Previous COP experience highly preferred.<\/li>\n<li>An in depth understanding of the pro-poor value chains in Nigerian context, and experience managing value chain projects addressing the vulnerable households.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience managing Feed the Future programs a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated success in designing and introducing activities that transfer appropriate technologies.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with participatory methods and partnerships required.
