The Exchange offers listing and trading services, licensing services, market data solutions, ancillary technology services, and more.<br \/>\nIt is an open, professional and vibrant exchange, connecting Nigeria, Africa and the world.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Company Secretariat Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<b>Location: <\/b>Lagos<br \/>\nDivision: CEO<br \/>\nDepartment: Council Secretariat Department<br \/>\nReport to: Head-Council Secretariat<br \/>\nGrade: Assistant Officer &#8211; Assistant Manager<br \/>\nEstimated Date of Resumption: Tuesday, August 1, 2017<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Exchange requires a consummate legal professional with varied experience, a strong personality, proven managerial skills and the ability to work as a team player to support the Division and assist it to contain costs.<\/li>\n<li>The individual will be required to have a thorough understanding of The Exchange\u2019s policies, overall mission and strategy, as well as a strong legal background, including stellar academic credentials and in-depth managerial experience.<\/li>\n<li>We are seeking an exceptional individual to work in the Council Secretariat by supporting the Head, Council Secretariat to serve the Council.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reviewing The Exchange\u2019s governance framework against global best practice, advising the Council<\/li>\n<li>Providing company secretarial services to The Exchange and its subsidiaries, including scheduling meetings, proactively managing the agenda, taking minutes, following up on action items and reporting on matters arising<\/li>\n<li>Organizing meetings of members of The Exchange in compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory provisions<\/li>\n<li>Preparing the annual report of The Exchange<\/li>\n<li>Dealing with Council correspondence<\/li>\n<li>Managing staff of the Council Secretariat Maintaining statutory books, including registers of members<\/li>\n<li>Secretary on suggested changes to the framework and ensuring the framework and supporting policies and procedures are well documented and up to date<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the Council and Council Committees to ensure the Council efficiently performs its oversight activities Assisting on Council development processes including Council evaluation, induction, and training; Communicating Council decisions to employees and other stakeholders as appropriate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Functional Competencies:\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Analytical Thinking<\/li>\n<li>Application of Legal Expertise<\/li>\n<li>Project Management<\/li>\n<li>Conflict Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Behavioural Competencies:\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leadership<\/li>\n<li>Attention to Detail<\/li>\n<li>Time Management<\/li>\n<li>Influence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Law or other relevant discipline<\/li>\n<li>Member, Institute of Chartered Secretaries will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Circa 4-5 years\u2019 experience, preferably gained from a number of organizations as set forth below:\n<ul>\n<li>Company secretarial function of a listed company, top tier capital market or financial industry operator<\/li>\n<li>Company secretarial practice in a top-tier law or professional services firm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHow to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nse.com.ng:8443\/careers\/#\/vacancy\/8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Click here to apply<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Application Deadline \u00a0<\/strong>13th June, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian Stock Exchange, services the largest economy in Africa, and is championing the development of Africa\u2019s financial markets.
