Using African fabrics, hand-woven materials, and contemporising almost-lost traditional African techniques, Deola designs present a unique vision and attitude for the modern woman.<br \/>\nWe are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Title: <\/b><strong>Brand Communications Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Location:<\/b> Lagos<br \/>\n<b>Report to:<\/b> the Head, Public Relations &amp; Marketing<br \/>\n<b>Key Elements of the Role<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the Head, Public Relations &amp; Marketing to define the strategic direction for the department which align with the overall strategic goals of the organization<\/li>\n<li>Create and implement a long-term communication strategy<\/li>\n<li>Formulate and implement public relations strategies<\/li>\n<li>Select and manage communications with external agencies as well as develop media marketing strategies and other non-campaign activities<\/li>\n<li>Be the company Brand Ambassador, develop a suite of brand materials for both internal and external use and working across all departments to ensure that work is created on brand<\/li>\n<li>Conduct a needs assessment of marketing materials for the organisation and support the implementation of creating identified materials<\/li>\n<li>Lead on brand awareness initiatives including the research and creation of public-facing documents, identifying partnership opportunities and attending meetings with potential partners when required<\/li>\n<li>Lead on internal communications initiatives including a monthly newsletter, coordinating the bi-annual staff conference and support HR with building momentum for staff events<\/li>\n<li>Identify and pursue partnership opportunities &#8211; for both brand awareness, etc<\/li>\n<li>Provide strategic input and direction for the brand, developing style guides, templates, and other materials, developing non-campaign brands while keeping the company\u2019s vision, mission, and objectives in mind; and advising internal and external stakeholders on issues relevant to the brand<\/li>\n<li>Create a spreadsheet of awards opportunities for each financial year and develop a strategy for those awards the company would benefit from entering<\/li>\n<li>Create and maintain templates for brand materials used for external and internal use such as presentation slides, letterhead etc<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the delivery of consistent messaging and brand management throughout all external and internal communications, brand material and collateral<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to producing high quality, statements, articles, briefing materials and features material as well as other relevant content as required<\/li>\n<li>Serve as spokesperson for the organization as needed<\/li>\n<li>Manage company\u2019s presence on social media<\/li>\n<li>Write blog posts, news articles, newsletters, website, annual report and other publications<\/li>\n<li>Monitor public opinion research related to the company\u2019s work and incorporate polling insights into the organization\u2019s communications<\/li>\n<li>Recommend improvements to internal processes and procedures and work collaboratively toward implementation<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the department\u2019s intranet page and ensure that the Communications files and documents are organised and accessible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Desired Skills &amp; Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree\/HND in Marketing, Advertising, or Communication<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in advertising, marketing, pubic relation, media buying, digital marketing, relationship management is required<\/li>\n<li>Professional certification will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Must be IT and media-savvy<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work and contribute positively in a team<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, including the presence to deal effectively with diverse constituencies including senior management<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well independently and as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>Project management experience and skills, including the ability to set priorities, work to tight and competing deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Business acumen and understanding of the retail industry<\/li>\n<li>Must have excellent writing and editing skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge in marketing, market research, corporate communications<\/li>\n<li>Excellent poise, presence, and presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience with content development and strategic communications<\/li>\n<li>Experience serving as an organizational spokesperson for the media<\/li>\n<li>Ability to provide or recommend solutions to problems; show flexibility to assume additional responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>Excellent presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to coordinate external partners<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter with mature analytical skills and ability to work under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle people, processes and products<\/li>\n<li>Innovative and forward thinking, with a track record of executing new ideas<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organisational skills with high level of attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Good negotiation and persuasion skills<\/li>\n<li>A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Outlook and Excel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Compensation &amp;
