We do this because we want to do what\u2019s right for our business today, and also what\u2019s right for people and the planet tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nJob Title:\u00a0Associate Manager \u2013 SHE<\/strong><br \/>\nJob ID: 450<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos, Nigeria<br \/>\nJob Type: Permanent<br \/>\nFunctional Area: Health and Safety<br \/>\n<strong>Position Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for the safety, environmental and IH including regulatory review, permitting, reporting, monitoring, compliance assistance and auditing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Expectations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead in conjunction with plant management, a visible safety culture, safe and healthy working conditions, environmental excellence and sustainability objectives are achieved and maintained.<\/li>\n<li>As a result, there is a continued reduction and prevention of incidents meeting future targets, a sustainable SHE system, and continued improvement in corporate\/Regional SHE metrics including zero losses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Primary Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reduce TIR following the site\/region agreed glide path.<\/li>\n<li>Lead or co-lead implementation of a Behavioral Observation System\u00a0 program and\u00a0 other culture\u00a0 change initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Provide\u00a0 SHE expertise to evaluate and support all contract manufacturers and co-branding licensees required per agreement or contract<\/li>\n<li>Work with GPS and Hub leads to ensure implementation of SHE Management System is suitable, adequate and effective to promote continuous improvement in SHE performance. Achieve and maintain SHE program external certifications in alignment with site\/region objectives<\/li>\n<li>Develop and manage SHE labor, expense and professional services budgets, including training programs to promote staff professional development<\/li>\n<li>Perform PMP reviews for each direct report.<\/li>\n<li>Align with Site Director\/Manager and Regional SHE Manager on priorities, objectives, strategies and KPIs and cascade them into your direct report PMP..<\/li>\n<li>Provide SHE expertise in response to GIA (Global Internal Audit function) and other external\u00a0 audits and inspections<\/li>\n<li>Be a member of the Regional Hub Manufacturing Steering Committee, providing proactive input and adding value with regards to\u00a0 SHE<\/li>\n<li>Lead and\/or manage the plant SHE pillar<\/li>\n<li>Obtain and\u00a0 comply with all facility required environmental permits. Lead \/ coordinate negotiations with regulatory agencies on permit conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with all local, state and country SHE regulations<\/li>\n<li>Review proposed SHE regulations and provide advance notification of pending changes to facilitate planning by affected operations. Support Global Public Affairs and Communications initiatives to revise proposed regulations if \/ as needed. Monitor other trends (e,g, NGO initiatives) that could affect company operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional SHE Accountabilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Embed safety mindset into the plant Lean pillars, co-partnering with other managers strengthen the safety culture and transform from management to employee-led safety programs.<\/li>\n<li>Stop all at-risk behaviors and conditions and empower employees to do so.<\/li>\n<li>Must know, comply with, train and coach the seven absolutes<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the eradication of Incidents and non-conformity through effective investigations and CAPA<\/li>\n<li>Sustain and ensure SHE Management System is effective to promote continuous improvement in SHE performance in area of responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>Co-lead with function managers the integration and embedding of safe behaviors and mindsets into Lean transformation activities, manufacturing, operations, warehouses and offices.<\/li>\n<li>Coach teams and other leaders to help broaden the culture of safety in their own organizations<\/li>\n<li>Must perform gemba walks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills and Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Education \u2013 B.Sc or M.Sc in Engineering, Environmental, Safety, Industrial Hygiene (Preferred)<\/li>\n<li>SHE Experience \u2013 2 or more years of leading similar SHE organizations preferable with years of experience in Manufacturing, Production or similar function managing people on the shop floor.<\/li>\n<li>Lean Knowledge \u2013 Owns mastery of the lean principles and the SCJ transformation approach across Operating System, Management Infrastructure, and Mindset, Behaviors and Capabilities<\/li>\n<li>Leadership and management \u2013 Possesses strong leadership, people skills and communication abilities<\/li>\n<li>Influencing \u2013 Can effectively garner support from others, negotiate persuasively and create win\/win outcomes<\/li>\n<li>Technical \u2013 Has solid Project Management skills, deep knowledge of TPM and mastery of the Training and Development process<\/li>\n<li>Manufacturing Experience (Preferred) \u2013 Has a track record of success at the front line management level.<\/li>\n<li>Global network experience \u2013 Proved experience working across the manufacturing network desirable intercultural outside one single region<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Core Competencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conflict Management<\/li>\n<li>Integrity and trust<\/li>\n<li>Developing direct reports and others<\/li>\n<li>Drive for result<\/li>\n<li>Priority Setting<\/li>\n<li>Managing through systems<\/li>\n<li>Motivating Others<\/li>\n<li>Problem Solving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHow to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/careers.peopleclick.eu.com\/careerscp\/client_ams_sourcecloud\/external1\/jobDetails.do?functionName=getJobDetail&amp;jobPostId=539&amp;localeCode=en-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0You need to be legally eligible to work in Nigeria<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>10th July, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SC Johnson (SCJ) is one of the world\u2019s leading makers of household brands.
