If you share our core beliefs: poverty is an injustice; poverty is solvable; and together, we have the power to end it, join us.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the positions below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Gender and Protection Adviser<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/strong>Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\nEmployee Duration: Short Term Contract<br \/>\nType of Post: Unaccompanied<strong><br \/>\nJob Descritpion<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CARE promotes the coordination of and strongly advocates for the mainstreaming of protection, including GBV mitigation, in its key sectors (sexual and reproductive health (SRH), food security and nutrition (FS&amp;N), WASH and Shelter) in a humanitarian emergency setting in accordance to the CARE International mandate, policies and guidelines, as well as the IASC Gender Handbook (review pending) and the IASC Guidelines for Integrating Gender-Based Violence Interventions in Humanitarian Action (2015; the \u2018GBV Guidelines\u2019).<\/li>\n<li>CARE is seeking a Gender and Protection Adviser who will work to establish strategies, sustainable technical guidelines and mechanisms in collaboration with the other Sector Specialists to guide CARE Nigeria programming in areas of gender and protection.<\/li>\n<li>In addition, the job intends to identify gaps and to build capacity of CARE Nigeria staff and partners to continue and replicate her\/his work for the improvement of program quality and impact.<\/li>\n<li>CARE is committed to ensuring respect of the Protection Principles set out in the Sphere Handbook (2011). The position will be based in Maiduguri.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preparations, Orientation and Priorities Setting<\/li>\n<li>Information, Assessments, Analysis and Monitoring<\/li>\n<li>Program and Strategy Development Support<\/li>\n<li>Capacity-building (including training, ToT, mentoring and one-on-one support, as is most effective)<\/li>\n<li>Coordination, Advocacy and Learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced university degree or equivalent in social studies or human rights or international humanitarian law.<\/li>\n<li>3-5 years of progressive overseas experience in humanitarian and development programs<\/li>\n<li>Substantial experience leading in gender and protection sectors in large and complex humanitarian and development programs<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in gender and protection sectors<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in leading strategic gender and protection interventions<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience in INGOs working environment\/system will be a strong asset<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written, oral communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)<\/li>\n<li>Proficient analytical skills that demonstrate an understanding of the current concepts, priorities, and issues in program monitoring, data collection and evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience on protection\/GBV in medium-large scale emergencies (three years minimum)<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with humanitarian programming and inter-agency coordination systems<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience combining formal expertise on protection and GBV mainstreaming and gender equality with experience of applying these concretely to specific humanitarian program sectors, plans, policies and processes. In particular, demonstrated experience in mainstreaming protection and GBV in at least one of CARE\u2019s key sectors (WASH, Shelter, SRH and Food Security &amp; Nutrition)<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in managing protection\/GBV-specific projects<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of training tools and methods and proven experience delivering training on protection and GBV-responsive programs<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate ideas in a culturally-sensitive manner and conducive to their practical application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Food\/Livelihood Security and Nutrition Sector Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\nExpected Travel: up to 50%<br \/>\nEmployee Duration: Short Term Contract<strong><br \/>\nJob Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CARE is seeking a Food\/Livelihood Security and Nutrition Sector Manager (FLS&amp;N) who will provide technical leadership to CARE\u2019s interventions in food and livelihood and nutrition sectors in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>The FLS&amp;N Sector Manager will support and promote food security and livelihoods response through establishment of sector strategies, technical guidelines, and response mechanisms in collaboration with the other Sectors\u2019 Managers to guide CARE Nigeria programming.<\/li>\n<li>The Sector Manager is expected to facilitate development of quality, gender-sensitive, accountable, and impact-focus interventions on livelihoods, food security, and Nutrition in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>This includes provision of technical advice, capacity building of staff and partners, as well as influencing policy and practice through research, analysis and advocacy and building resilience by linking to longer term programming.<\/li>\n<li>The position will be based in Maiduguri and report directly to the Program Director.<\/li>\n<li>The position will be for an initial six month with potential extension for long-term as CARE secures more donors\u2019 funding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Information Gathering, Assessments, Analysis and Technical Guidance<\/li>\n<li>Strategy and Program Development<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring, evaluation, accountability and reporting<\/li>\n<li>Capacity-building<\/li>\n<li>Coordination, Representation, Advocacy and Learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced university degree or equivalent in Agriculture or other relevant field<\/li>\n<li>3-5 years of international experience in food security, agriculture, and livelihoods, including experience in emergency response and recovery following natural\/manmade disasters<\/li>\n<li>Experience in assessment, program design &amp;
