CHAI\u2019s solution-oriented approach focuses on improving market dynamics for medicines and diagnostics; lowering prices for treatment; accelerating access to lifesaving technologies; and helping governments build the capacity required for high-quality care and treatment programs.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nJob Title:\u00a0Volunteer, Malaria Analytics &amp; Surveillance<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja<br \/>\nType: Volunteer, International | 6+ months<br \/>\nBusiness Unit: Access Programs \u2013 Global Malaria<strong><br \/>\nOverview of Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CHAI is seeking a highly motivated individual with public health experience to conduct data analyses in support of evidence-based decision making within national malaria programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The volunteer will work on the following deliverables:<br \/>\nNigeria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform a quantitative analysis of key malaria disease and data quality indicators from the national DHIS2 database. The results of this analysis will be included in an upcoming surveillance assessment planned to take place in summer 2017.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze the data from supportive supervision and surveillance data from private sector drug shops from March 2017 onwards. This analysis will result in a presentation to share the results with Nigeria\u2019s National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kenya:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and revise malaria dashboards using DHIS2 based on feedback from government leadership in two counties where CHAI is leading a surveillance strengthening program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tanzania:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform a quantitative analysis of data from supportive supervision visits among informal private sector drug shops, and a quantitative analysis of six months of surveillance data from these drug shops, including data quality.<\/li>\n<li>As a deliverable, the volunteer will support creating a presentation to share these findings during a meeting with Tanzania\u2019s National Malaria Control Program (NMCP).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct descriptive statistical and epidemiological analyses based on surveillance and supportive supervision data;<\/li>\n<li>Clean, organize and merge available data using Excel or statistical software (STATA, SAS, R);<\/li>\n<li>Assist with disseminating findings through high-quality presentations, reports, and publications; and,<\/li>\n<li>Any other tasks identified.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s Degree in Public Health or related field (or currently enrolled in such program) strongly preferred, or Bachelor\u2019s degree minimum with exceptional experience;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently in unstructured settings and to adapt to new environments;<\/li>\n<li>Enthusiasm for applying research methods to solve global health problems; and,<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional written and oral communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with statistical software (e.g., STATA, SAS, R, or other) to clean, organize and analyze data;<\/li>\n<li>High levels of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet applications;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Advantages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Geospatial analysis programming experience (R, ArcGIS and\/or other relevant software);<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of malaria and\/or other major global infectious disease problems;<\/li>\n<li>Experience living or working in resource-limited countries;<\/li>\n<li>Experience working remotely with a decentralized team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/careers-chai.icims.com\/jobs\/7153\/volunteer%2c-malaria-analytics-%26-surveillance-%286-months%29\/job?mobile=false&amp;width=1350&amp;height=500&amp;bga=true&amp;needsRedirect=false&amp;jan1offset=60&amp;jun1offset=60\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clinton Health Access Initiative \u2013 Founded in 2002, by President William J.
