\nPosition Reports To: Senior Program Manager
\nLocation: Katsina State<\/p>\n
\nLeadership
\n\u2022 Assist in the assessment of clinical training and service delivery needs for MCHIP and in the design and implementation of appropriate responses to meet them.
\n\u2022 Identify and inform supervisor of successes, challenges and lessons learned
\n\u2022 Develop and maintain excellent relationships with government officials, colleagues and donors in Katsina state
\nManagement and Administration
\n\u2022 Contribute to the development of curricula, translations of technical and\/or training materials.
\n\u2022 Maintain excellent records of technical files and materials supplied to various partners or training entities
\n\u2022 Participate in technical assistance to Government counterparts and NGOs implementing MCHIP program activities
\n\u2022 Contribute to technical program reports, work-plans, and draft correspondence as requested
\n\u2022 Comply with JHPIEGO and JHU operational policies and regulations
\n\u2022 Keep up to date on developments in the literature and new evidence and maternal and newborn health.
\n\u2022 Contribute to development of proposals, as needed
\n\u2022 Other tasks as identified by the supervisor<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Medical, nursing or midwifery degree with specialization in public health
\n\u2022 5 years work experience with progressively increasing responsibilities
\n\u2022 Understanding of public health and development approaches
\n\u2022 Demonstrated self-management (i.e. motivation, dealing with pressure, adaptability).
\n\u2022 Strong decision making skills and results oriented approach
\n\u2022 Willingness to travel within and occasionally outside Katsina State
\nKnowledge
\n\u2022 Donor funded program experience preferred
\n\u2022 Competency-based training experience with medical, nursing and midwifery institutions
\n\u2022 Computer skills demonstrating competency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, MSWord, Outlook and PowerPoint
\n\u2022 Aware of and sensitive to working in multiple socio-economic settings and with multi-cultural groups
\nAbilities\/Skills
\n\u2022 Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
\n\u2022 Experience in writing technical and programmatic reports that document program direction or results
\n\u2022 Ability to interact skillfully and diplomatically with numerous counterparts.
\n\u2022 Experience working in cooperation with colleagues who represent a wide range of interests and needs.
\n\u2022 Comfortable with a team approach to programming and the ability to manage several major activities simultaneously
\n\u2022 Fluency in written and spoken English and Hausa
\n\u2022 Knowledge of USAID Rules and regulations<\/p>\n
