MdM operating in Nigeria, Borno state since October 2016.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Female Psychosocial Support Counselor<br \/>\nLocations:<\/strong>\u00a0Maiduguri and Damboa, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration:<\/strong>\u00a06 Months (with possibility of extension)<br \/>\n<strong>Monthly working hours:<\/strong>\u00a0208 hours ( from Monday to Friday, occasional weekend work)<br \/>\n<strong>Starting date:<\/strong>\u00a0ASAP<br \/>\n<strong>Supervisor:<\/strong>\u00a0Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Coordinator<br \/>\n<strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You will be working under the overall responsibility of the GenCo, and directly under the supervision of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>You will provide key support to the MH Coordinator in the roll-out and implementation of project activities.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she will work with partners, counterparts and stakeholders in ensuring psychosocial services, capacity building and awareness-raising.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she will ensure that project outputs are of the highest quality and that expected results are achieved in a timely and efficient manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities and Tasks Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deliver one-on-one (Individual) and group counselling sessions to identified clients through MDM Clinics, and in line with MDM integrated approach<\/li>\n<li>Engage with the community to deliver and promote MDM MHPSS project activities in the designated locations.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in writing monthly, quarterly, annual reports, monitoring and evaluation activity and progress reports of project activities including monthly reporting to the MHPSS Coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>On request support MH Coord in specific tasks<\/li>\n<li>Develop psychosocial activities; community mobilization, awareness raising, creation of family support group, working on family links etc.<\/li>\n<li>Support MH Coord in delivering training, workshops etc as outlined in the project.<\/li>\n<li>Support in the creation of materials including publicity documents, workshops contents.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a positive image of MDM at all times and in all circumstances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><br \/>\nEssential:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be educated to Degree\/Diploma level in Psychology, Counselling, Social Sciences, Community Development or related field from a recognized institution.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in related work within an INGO or organization similar setting.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in MHPSS project implementation within an INGO setting<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of counseling and community mobilization methods and tools<\/li>\n<li>Good spoken and written English<\/li>\n<li>Good spoken and written Hausa , with at least one other local language: Kanuri and Marghi, Shuwa, Fulani,<\/li>\n<li>Good communicator with proven organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in TOT<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work harmoniously in a team setting<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to work long hours and weekends when necessary<\/li>\n<li>Good computer skills (Microsoft word,Power Point and Excel)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Desirable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in supporting medical team and community based organizations<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working with Hospital could be added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge about MHPSS<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with survivors of trauma, including GBV<\/li>\n<li>Working in emergency and development project<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to research<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of Borno state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their CV\u2019s plus cover letter explaining why you consider yourself suitable for this position and providing a valid email and telephone contact to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruitment.nigeria@medecinsdumonde.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>recruitment.nigeria@medecinsdumonde.net<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nOr<br \/>\nSend their CV\u2019s to:<br \/>\n<strong>No. 149 Abubakar Grangrang Street,<br \/>\nOff Damboa Road,<br \/>\nBehind NTA,<br \/>\nMaiduguri,<br \/>\nBorno State.<\/strong><strong>Note<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure to place \u201cFemale Psychosocial Support Counsellor\u201d in the subject line.<\/li>\n<li>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/li>\n<li>This job description is not exhausted and the staff member may be asked from time to time to perform duties over and above those described here.
