It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Technical Officer (Humanitarian Hub)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>SVN No.:<\/strong>\u00a0SVN2017\/169(P)<br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>IOM Classification:<\/strong>\u00a0Professional Staff, Grade P2<br \/>\n<strong>Type of Appointment:<\/strong>\u00a0Special short-term graded, Six months with possibility of extensio<br \/>\n<strong>Estimated Start Date:<\/strong>\u00a0As soon as possible<br \/>\n<strong>Context<\/strong><br \/>\nUnder the overall supervision of the Head of Sub Office, Maiduguri and the direct supervision of the Project Manager (Humanitarian Hub (HH)) and the functional supervision of the Programme Manager (Shelter), the successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the technical aspects of construction and maintenance of the Humanitarian Hubs in North-East, Nigeria.<br \/>\n<strong>Core Functions \/ Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute\u00a0 to\u00a0 the\u00a0 management\u00a0 of\u00a0 resources;\u00a0 update\u00a0 funding\u00a0 and\u00a0 expenditure\u00a0 spreadsheets, track\u00a0 resource\u00a0 utilization,\u00a0 draft\u00a0 budget\u00a0 revisions,\u00a0 and\u00a0 make\u00a0 recommendations\u00a0 on\u00a0 spending plans.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the facilities and functioning of the Humanitarian Hub, document shortfalls or issues, and bring to the attention of the supervisor along with proposed solutions and improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate\u00a0 repairs,\u00a0 maintenance,\u00a0 and\u00a0 installation\u00a0 of\u00a0 infrastructure\u00a0 both\u00a0 conventional\u00a0 and temporary installations.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and coordinate essential central services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling.<\/li>\n<li>Respond\u00a0 to\u00a0 emergencies\u00a0 or\u00a0 urgent\u00a0 issues\u00a0 as\u00a0 they\u00a0 arise,\u00a0 informing\u00a0 the\u00a0 supervisor\u00a0 or\u00a0 taking action as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Raise\u00a0 Purchase\u00a0 Requests\u00a0 in\u00a0 coordination\u00a0 with\u00a0 Hub\u00a0 manager,\u00a0 Hub\u00a0 Operations\u00a0 Manager, head of office and logistics for materials to maintain or improve the Humanitarian Hub.<\/li>\n<li>Assess partner needs in the humanitarian hub, and draft proposals to meet these needs.<\/li>\n<li>Implement\u00a0 the\u00a0 humanitarian\u00a0 hub\u00a0 preventive\u00a0 programme\u00a0 for\u00a0 facility\u00a0 equipment,\u00a0 including HVAC and office equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that any faults or defects are actioned promptly.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise and monitor contractor work to agreed specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 work\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 personnel\u00a0\u00a0 for\u00a0\u00a0 maintenance\u00a0\u00a0 purposes including housekeepers, electricians, plumbers, daily laborer\u2019s etc., and recommend performance improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Draft sections of regular progress and other reports.<\/li>\n<li>Perform such other duties as may be required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><br \/>\nEducation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s Degree in Building\u00a0 Management; Construction;\u00a0 Engineering and Building Services; Facilities Management; Hospitality; Surveying; Property Management or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience;
