Headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, WAIFEM has the m-andate to strengthen capacity for macroeconomic and financial management in the countries of member Central Banks.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute seeks qualified candidates to fill the under-mentioned vacancy:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Director of Research<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible to the Director General, the Director of Research will supervise the research department to ensure research into relevant issues\/topics emanating from the capacity building and training programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the production of the Institutes various publications.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the building up of the database in the constituent countries of WAIFEM.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out such other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time by the Director General.<\/li>\n<li>Direct and lead the department in the sourcing of funds to facilitate its research work.<\/li>\n<li>Organize internal and external seminars and workshops for the benefit of the Institute and the sub-region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a citizen of the countries of WAIFEM member banks.<\/li>\n<li>Must be versed in research methodology and endowed with excellent written and oral communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Must be computer literate and familiar with softwares used by economists etc.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to work in a team-based multi-cultural environment.<\/li>\n<li>Holds a minimum of post-graduate degree in Economics and\/or Finance at the Masters level; a doctorate degree would be an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Have at least 10 years of professional experience in senior management capacity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration<\/strong><br \/>\nAttractive and competitive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should submit their Applications with detailed CV\u2019s including the names of three referees to:<br \/>\n<strong>The Director General,<br \/>\nWest African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM),<br \/>\nc\/o Central Bank of Nigeria Learning Centre,<br \/>\nPMB 2001,<br \/>\nSatellite Town,<br \/>\nLagos State<\/strong>.<br \/>\nEmail:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dg@waifem-cbp.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>dg@waifem-cbp.org<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0<\/strong>10th October, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The West African Institute For Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM) is a sub-regional capacity building Institution established in 1996 by the Central Banks of The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10164,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
