Ten scholars whose proposed projects are judged to be of high quality and closely relevant to the foundation\u2019s interest in violence and aggression are selected to take part.<\/p>\n<p>The program includes a methods workshop, fieldwork research grants of $2,000 USD each, editorial and publication assistance, and sponsorship at an international conference to present research findings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Guidelines<\/strong><br \/>\nApplicants must be aged 35 or younger and must have been educated on the African continent and currently residing there.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are due by\u00a0<strong>December 15th<\/strong>.\u00a0 All application materials must be submitted by the end of that day (midnight, EST) in order to be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Applications should be no more than six pages and include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Research question<\/li>\n<li>Short literature review<\/li>\n<li>Description of research methods to be used<\/li>\n<li>Two-page C.V.<\/li>\n<li>Copy of passport or government-issued ID card<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The online application will be available beginning\u00a0<i>October 1st.<\/i>\u00a0Apply at:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantinterface.com\/hfg\/common\/logon.aspx\">HFG Young African Scholars<\/a><br \/>\n<em>(Requires creation of a free account)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Or send application to:<\/p>\n<p>The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation<br \/>\n25 West 53rd Street<br \/>\nNew York, NY 10019<\/p>\n<p>For more information, visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hfg.org\/scholars\/main.htm\">http:\/\/www.hfg.org\/scholars\/main.htm<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every two years, The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation hosts the Young African Scholars program.
