Following its inception in July 2004, Workforce Management Centre Limited (Workforce) has built an enviable reputation as the leading indigenous management and professional services consulting firm in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>We are currently recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Male Archivist<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for records management and archive conservation; assembling, cataloguing, preserving and managing valuable collections of records\/ files.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the archive.<\/li>\n<li>Catalogue collections and manage information and records.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to personal, telephone, email and written enquiries from members of the public and other users.<\/li>\n<li>Reserve records as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Sort file according to ranges.<\/li>\n<li>Put documents into files and update checklist as the need arises<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and track in-coming and outgoing files.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure files contain the necessary documents.<\/li>\n<li>Physically confirm number of files in archive periodically.<\/li>\n<li>Advise users on how best to access, use and interpret archives, often through internal training courses.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate remote access by maintaining user-friendly, computer-aided search systems.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate training sessions on archival procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Identify ways of protecting and preserving records\/documents.<\/li>\n<li>Advise on the ongoing organisation and storage of material in order to encourage WFMC to plan for the future.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate, select, retrieve and arrange materials\/ documents.<\/li>\n<li>Answer enquiries relating to archive and documents.<\/li>\n<li>Record the collection and return of employee staff file<\/li>\n<li>Ensure information in staff files are not misplaced<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate records for preservation and retention (some may be fragile and need careful handling, repair or conservation).<\/li>\n<li>Arrange the acquisition and retrieval of records.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare record-keeping systems and procedures for archive, research and for the retention or destruction of records.<\/li>\n<li>Provide reference services for users needing archived documents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be an OND holder in Library Science, Information Science or a related course.<\/li>\n<li>Must be a Male<\/li>\n<li>Must have done his industrial training (IT) in a standard library or archive.<\/li>\n<li>Investigative Skills<\/li>\n<li>Quality Assurance<\/li>\n<li>Records Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Generic Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tenacity: Basic<\/li>\n<li>Time\/Self-Management<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility and Adaptability.<\/li>\n<li>Reliability: Intermediate<\/li>\n<li>Communication: Basic \u2013 Advanced<\/li>\n<li>Initiative: Basic: Advanced<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their CV\u2019s to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:jobs@wfmcentre.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>jobs@wfmcentre.com<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0the Subject of the mail should be \u201cArchivist\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only qualified candidates will be contacted.<\/li>\n<li>Please note that this role is for OND holders who have completed their industrial training (IT)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>13th October, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Workforce Management Centre Limited is a Management Consulting and Outsourcing Professional Services Firm.
