UNESCO does not charge a fee at any stage of the recruitment process.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Finance and Administrative Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Post Number:<\/strong> 6NGBFM0005RP<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja<br \/>\nGrade : P-3<br \/>\nOrganizational Unit : FIELD OFFICES<br \/>\nRecruitment open to : Internal and external candidates<br \/>\nType of contract : Fixed Term<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Finance and Administrative Officer is responsible for providing a range of administrative management support activities to the UNESCO Regional Office in Abuja, Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>He\/She reports directly to the Director of Office with overall guidance from the Bureau of Financial Management.<\/li>\n<li>On matters of financial internal control in their capacity as certifying officer, the incumbent will have a functional reporting line to the Chief Financial Officer.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she will receive policy guidance\/ instructions from relevant sectors within UNESCO on the areas of Financial Management, Human Resources Management, Security and Office Administration.<\/li>\n<li>He\/She will be assisted in the discharge of his\/her duties by the Bureau for Financial Management.<\/li>\n<li>In the Field Office, he\/she advises and supports the Director of Office or the designate on administration, budget, financial, human resources management, premises-related and security matters within the Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<br \/>\n<\/strong>Required<\/p>\n<p>Education:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.<\/li>\n<li>A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Work Experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience with a focus on administration, finance and\/or accounting, of which at least 2 years acquired at international level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skills\/ Competencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills, ability to identify issues and formulate options\/recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>Service-oriented and team builder.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to establish good working relationships with external and internal partners.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to lead, manage and motivate staff and teams.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to take initiative and seek innovative ways to improve results.<\/li>\n<li>Good IT skills, including knowledge of MS software (Word, Excel etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of ERP and the financial, HR or administrative management tools.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and understanding of institutional UNESCO mandates in the Region.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor own work plan and those under his\/her supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to solve routine and non-routine issues in the field of Human Resources, finance and budget.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively, persuasively and use tact and diplomacy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Languages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent\/very good knowledge of English and fair knowledge of French.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable<\/strong><br \/>\nEducation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professionally recognized Accountancy Certification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Work Experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with international organisations or United Nations agencies.<\/li>\n<li>Field experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skills\/ Competencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in the use of SAP.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of UN Rules, Regulations and administrative procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the work and general functioning of international organizations and\/or the UN system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong><br \/>\n74 049 USD (Annual Salary)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/careers.unesco.org\/careersection\/iam\/accessmanagement\/login.jsf?lang=en&amp;redirectionURI=https%3A%2F%2Fcareers.unesco.org%2Fcareersection%2Fapplication.jss%3Flang%3Den%26type%3D1%26csNo%3D2%26portal%3D101430233%26reqNo%3D26545%26isOnLogoutPage%3Dtrue&amp;TARGET=https%3A%2F%2Fcareers.unesco.org%2Fcareersection%2Fapplication.jss%3Flang%3Den%26type%3D1%26csNo%3D2%26portal%3D101430233%26reqNo%3D26545%26isOnLogoutPage%3Dtrue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>11th November, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
