MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Field Advisor<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Onitsha, Anambra<strong><br \/>\nMain Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop an in depth analysis of the dynamics in the area in which MSF is operating<\/li>\n<li>Develop relationships with key actors through the regular sharing of information about MSF activities<\/li>\n<li>Alongside the Project Coordinator, represent MSF in meetings or negotiations with political, military and civil society actors.<\/li>\n<li>Develop an in depth analysis of the social and political dynamics in the area in which MSF is operating<\/li>\n<li>Execute clerk-related activities<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Project Coordinator in the drafting of correspondences with authorities and counterparts (government officials, UN agencies, NGOs, etc.) in order to ensure fluent and accurate communication flows<\/li>\n<li>Translate documents and act as an interpreter when needed<\/li>\n<li>File and update field contacts and correspondence<\/li>\n<li>Report on security incidents in the area of MSF operations<\/li>\n<li>Cross check rumors about possible security threats or incidents<\/li>\n<li>Exchange analysis of the context and networks with Country Analyst<\/li>\n<li>Advise the Field Coordinator on security risks and mitigation measures<\/li>\n<li>Analyze the way in which MSF is perceived in the community and make recommendations to address any misperceptions.<\/li>\n<li>Support the field coordinator in preparing contacts for exploratory missions<\/li>\n<li>Brief new staff on the context<\/li>\n<li>Organize advocacy contacts and appointments for the Project Coordinator with local authorities and partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Education Essential: University degree<\/li>\n<li>Languages Essential: Written and spoken English and Igbo<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge Essential: Computer literacy (word, excel)<\/li>\n<li>Desirable: Existing network of contacts in Anambra state and at federal level<\/li>\n<li>Essential: Good understanding of local social, political and security context<\/li>\n<li>Experience Desirable: Three years previous experience in similar jobs in the field of humanitarian aid with MSF or other NGOs.<\/li>\n<li>Desirable: Previous work experience in the field of journalism, advocacy, diplomacy or security management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diplomacy and negotiation skills<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to MSF principles (neutrality, impartiality, medical ethics)<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility and willingness to travel<\/li>\n<li>Analytical skills (gathering, processing and understanding information)<\/li>\n<li>Integrity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHow to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their applications and CV\u2019s to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:msfocb-onitsha-adminfin@brussels.msf.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>msfocb-onitsha-adminfin@brussels.msf.org<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Note<\/strong>: Only short-listed candidates will be notified and invited for interview<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>21st October, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.
