Working with various partners across sub-Saharan Africa, we improve livelihoods, enhance food and nutrition security, increase employment, and preserve natural resource integrity. IITA is a member of CGIAR, a global agriculture research partnership for a food secure future.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Field Worker II<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Ref:<\/strong> IITA-HR-NRS2017-0036<br \/>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Ibadan<br \/>\nRecruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract)<br \/>\n<strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nSuccessful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in processing striga seeds for infestation at Abuja and Mokwa;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in harvesting, seed processing and storage of breeding materials;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure preparation of trials and nurseries;<\/li>\n<li>Supervise casual workers during planting, thinning, pollination, harvesting, threshing and other field activities;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the multiplication of open-pollinated varieties, inbred lines and hybrids at Ibadan;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure laying and planting of trials, nurseries and pollination of breeding materials;<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>O\u2019Level certificate with minimum of three (3) years\u2019 experience performing similar role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ideal candidate must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have ability to works with little or no supervision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration<\/strong><br \/>\nWe offer highly competitive salary with equally attractive benefits and excellent working conditions in a pleasant campus environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHow to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified applicants should complete the online application attaching detailed Curriculum Vitae saved with their names in Microsoft word format, the application must include the names and e-mail addresses of three professional referees which must include the applicant\u2019s current or previous direct Supervisor, professional colleague and evidence of current remuneration package.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iita.org\/about\/jobs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><br \/>\nClick here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>2nd November, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is a not-for-profit institution that generates agricultural innovations to meet Africa\u2019s most pressing challenges of hunger, malnutrition, poverty, and natural resource degradation.
