It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Driver<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Ref No:<\/strong> 1703472<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja<br \/>\nGrade: G2<br \/>\nContractual Arrangement: Individual Service Contractor<br \/>\nContract duration: 3 Months<br \/>\nSchedule: Full-time<br \/>\n<strong>Purpose of the Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Driving WHO Official Vehicle safely without traffic violations and ensure that vehicles are kept in good and working conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Description of Duties<\/strong><br \/>\nUnder the overall supervision of the Operations Officer and the direct supervision of the Technical Officer, Operations Unit, the incumbent will perform the following duties:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drive office vehicles to convey authorized personnel, handle delivery and collection of mail,\u00a0 documents and other items;<\/li>\n<li>Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc;<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that the steps required by the rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in a crash;<\/li>\n<li>Meet authorized personnel at the airport, facilitate immigration and customs formalities as required;<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.,<\/li>\n<li>Performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs, regular servicing and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean and mission ready.<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\nEducation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Secondary Education qualification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of three years driving experience as a driver; clean safe driving record\/history.<\/li>\n<li>Previous UN and\/or INGO experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Use of Language Skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>English and\/or a very good knowledge of the local language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other Skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to read, write and understand instructions in the working language<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of driving rules and regulations of the country and skills in minor vehicle repair.<\/li>\n<li>An ability to write a concise and official report of incidents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHow to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/tl-ex.vcdp.who.int\/careersection\/ex\/jobdetail.ftl?job=1703472&amp;tz=GMT%2B01%3A00\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>26th October, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>World Health Organization (WHO) is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system.
