We promote family-friendly flexible working opportunities, where operational and security needs allow.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Project Support Officer \u2013 Border Force<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Ref No:<\/strong> 19\/17 LOS<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos<br \/>\nGrade: A2 (L)<br \/>\nType of Position: Fixed Term<br \/>\nDuration of Post: 5 months<br \/>\nStart Date\u00a0 1st December, 2017.<strong><br \/>\nMain Purpose of Job<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The main function of this post is to provide administrative and intelligence support to the Border Force, based in the British High Commission in Lagos.<\/li>\n<li>The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team.<\/li>\n<li>Appointments within the Border Force require a high level of integrity and discretion.<\/li>\n<li>All candidates should be aware that this appointment is subject to security checks (past 5 years) and clearance prior to appointment.<\/li>\n<li>The role will be specifically to maintain and update the administrative records, manage budget spreadsheets and other ancillary duties in support of the border Force project team.<\/li>\n<li>All applicants will be required to hold a UK passport and citizenship and have an accountable work and\/or personal record for the past 5 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Roles and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintaining records of Project Hunter\/Chaucer staff<\/li>\n<li>Maintenance and accounting of monthly\/annual budgets<\/li>\n<li>Preparing official letters, recording meetings<\/li>\n<li>Arranging calls<\/li>\n<li>Basic criminal investigations, research and analysis<\/li>\n<li>Completing UK intelligence reports<\/li>\n<li>Office and asset management<\/li>\n<li>Liaison with law enforcement and public bodies \u2013 both at senior management and practitioner level<\/li>\n<li>Managing of drivers and maintenance of official vehicles, insurance and monthly payments to Hunter\/Chaucer local support staff<\/li>\n<li>Addressing of accommodation issues<\/li>\n<li>Arranging payments of invoices, utility and other bills<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with monthly reports and training programmes, including their evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Making travel arrangements for UK and other African countries, including visa applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<br \/>\n<\/strong>Essential:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel<\/li>\n<li>Ability to quickly and accurately input data to a bespoke database<\/li>\n<li>Good attention to detail.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Desirable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiar with Firecrest, Echo, FCO and Border Force systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Required Competencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leading and Communicating, Collaborating and Partnering, Managing a Quality Service, Delivering at Pace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Starting Monthly Salary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>N381,775.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other Benefits and Conditions of Employment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Candidates must be able to obtain Official Sensitive Security Clearance.<\/li>\n<li>A job offer will only be confirmed once this clearance has been granted by Foreign and Commonwealth Security Directorate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/fco.tal.net\/vx\/lang-en-GB\/mobile-0\/appcentre-1\/brand-2\/xf-d17bc715fac7\/candidate\/so\/pm\/4\/pl\/1\/opp\/4528-Project-Support-Officer-Border-Force-Internal-job-advert-19-17-LOS\/en-GB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Additional information<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only electronic applications will be accepted.<\/li>\n<li>Please complete the application form in full as the information provided is used during screening.<\/li>\n<li>Please check your application carefully before you submit, as no changes can be made once submitted.<\/li>\n<li>The British Deputy High Commission will never request any payment or fees to apply for a position.<\/li>\n<li>Employees recruited locally by the British Deputy High Commission in Lagos are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local employment law in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>All candidates must be legally able to work and reside in the country of the vacancy with the correct visa\/work permit status or demonstrate eligibility to obtain the relevant permit.<\/li>\n<li>The responsibility lies on the successful candidate to: Obtain the relevant permit;
