Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Programme Associate (Nutrition) \u2013 G6\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Requisition:<\/strong> #65621<br \/>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Maiduguri, Borno<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)<\/strong><br \/>\nUnder the overall supervision of the Head of Nutrition Unit, the INP Associate \/focal point will be responsible for the following activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a focal point for all local NGOs, providing coordination and technical support monitoring of the implementation of the Nutrition programmes;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct distribution monitoring and provide distribution updates as per the agreed schedule and act as an alternate to the unit reports focal person;<\/li>\n<li>Work in collaboration with the identified implementing partner for the Shani INP pilot project to ensure both facility and community based components including setting up of the nutrition care groups are in place and cash transfers are effected as planned;<\/li>\n<li>Participate and support the design and development of the Shani pilot project in collaboration with UNICEF and the implementing partners ensuring that the WFP contribution to the pilot is clearly articulated and integrated within the implementation framework.<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible for the unit\u2019s internal business processes including procurement, preparing of forecasts for both operational and partner advances as well as managing the material and equipment inventory;<\/li>\n<li>Provide information and updates on INP activities as required; informing the Head of Nutrition and as necessary Head of Programme on emerging issues in INP that require urgent attention;<\/li>\n<li>Maintain close relations and collaboration with UNICEF whom WFP is partnering with in the INP, acting as their link to ensure all activities are implemented according to the agreed protocol;<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with M&amp;E and VAM units to ensure INP activity implementation is enriched with well-designed outcome monitoring assessments and findings are accurately reported and used to inform implementation improvements;<\/li>\n<li>Support the 27 health facilities to implement INP activities according to the agreed protocol and consolidating their respective reports and ensuring they are well captured by the M&amp;E unit.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other related duties as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4Ps Core Organisational Capabilities<\/strong><br \/>\nPurpose:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand and communicate the Strategic Objectives: Coaches team in the most effective ways to communicate WFP\u2019s Strategic Objectives to WFP team and partners in the field.<\/li>\n<li>Be a force for positive change: Implements new methods or tools to improve team\u2019s work processes and productivity.<\/li>\n<li>Make the mission inspiring to our team: Maps team\u2019s activities and tasks to specific successes in beneficiary communities to showcase positive impact.<\/li>\n<li>Make our mission visible in everyday actions: Explains to teammates how each unit contributes to the overall WFP mission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>People:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Look for ways to strengthen people\u2019s skills: Identifies skill development opportunities such as training modules or on-the-job experiences for self, colleagues and direct reports.<\/li>\n<li>Create an inclusive culture: Facilitates team building activities to build rapport in own unit.<\/li>\n<li>Be a coach &amp; adaptable: Articulates to colleagues or direct reports the value of contributing to other WFP teams and agency partnerships in fulfilling WFP\u2019s goals and objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Be clear about the value WFP brings to partnerships: Organizes, monitors, and prioritizes own and team\u2019s efforts to ensure that they will fulfil the needs of internal and external partners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Functional Capabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Broad Knowledge of Specialized Areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understands basic technical concepts and data and their relevance to food assistance programmes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Emergency Programming:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Displays capacity to provide inputs into the development, implementation and realignment of high quality emergency programmes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Strategic Policy Engagement w\/Government:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understands and applies basic principles of engagement with government counterparts at the national or local level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Programme Lifecycle &amp; Food Assistance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates ability to identify key variables and contextual factors that affect food assistance problems and programmes throughout the lifecycle to inform quality programme design or re-design.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Transfer Modalities (Food, Cash, Vouchers):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates ability to implement, under guidance, food assistance programmes deploying the full range of transfer modalities with an understanding of basic principles guiding modality selection and implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\nEducation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A University Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Health Sciences, International Health, Food Science or any other relevant field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Language:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fluency in both oral and written communication in English is a requirement.
