It has over 42,000 members and is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) and Association of Accountancy Bodies in West Africa (ABWA).<\/p>\n<p>In the Institute\u2019s quest for more effective pursuit of its objectives, it seeks to recruit suitably qualified candidates for the vacant position below in its Research and Technical Education Directorate:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Speech Writer<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Nigeria<br \/>\nReports to: The Director, Technical and Education<strong><br \/>\nKey Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>His\/her main task is to manage the communication of the Presidency through specialised knowledge and provide strategic communication support to the Institute\u2019s Principal office holders.<\/li>\n<li>Drafting speeches, statements, briefings and written communications for the Presidency and ensuring high level of consistency, accuracy and presentation for a wide variety of audiences<\/li>\n<li>Liaising closely with various directorates of the Institute to ensure timely and relevant inputs into development of written communication for the Presidency and other matters of relevance to the Institute.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of Masters degree in Accountancy, Finance or Economics<\/li>\n<li>Must be familiar with technical writing and possess ability to write effectively with accuracy within tight timelines<\/li>\n<li>Must possess lateral thinking capabilities and ability to synthesize complex materials<\/li>\n<li>Capacity to set deadlines and to multi-task<\/li>\n<li>Membership of a professional accountancy body will offer a distinct advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Research Fellow<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Nigeria<br \/>\nReports to: The Deputy Registrar, Technical Services<br \/>\n<strong>Key Accountabilities<\/strong><br \/>\nThe position is directly responsible for;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organisation of Annual Lectures and Programmes<\/li>\n<li>Functioning as a Rapporteur at the Annual Accountants Conference of the Institute<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.<\/li>\n<li>Organisation of Budget Symposium<\/li>\n<li>Driving the process of publishing at east, one issue of the ICAN Journal of Accounting and Finance<\/li>\n<li>Solicitation of Commissioned papers for financial support by the Institute<\/li>\n<li>Assisting in generating pre-budget inputs into the Annual Federal Government Appropriation Bill<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ph.D with a minimum of five (5) years post-doctoral experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience in leading, managing and coordinating a broad range of research in line with defined strategic objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills\/Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong research, analytical and reporting ability with good communication and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and demonstrated capacity to work in partnership with diverse groups while balancing the relative sensitivities are also essential competencies for this role.<\/li>\n<li>Success in this role demands diligence, attention to details, creative and inquiring capacity, strategic mind set, leadership, creativity and proficiency in the use of information technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Senior Manager, Research<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Nigeria<br \/>\nReports to: The Director, Technical and Education<strong><br \/>\nKey Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identifying the research and technical needs of the Institute for internal and external consumption assisting the Technical, Research and Public Policy Committee or any other Committee of Council that requires the services of the Department in identifying research issues and proffering solutions;<\/li>\n<li>Co-ordinating the Institute\u2019s programmes for promoting and developing the science of accountancy and disseminating the output of the Institute\u2019s research projects;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of a Masters\u2019 degree in a quantitative discipline from a recognized\/reputable university, and<\/li>\n<li>Must be familiar with computerised research instrument- SPSS; Minitabs and Eview<\/li>\n<li>Possession of a professional accounting qualification will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Senior Manager \u2013 Technical<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Nigeria<br \/>\nReports to: The Director, Technical and Education<strong><br \/>\nKey Accountabilities<\/strong><br \/>\nThe position holder will;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take charge of technical assignments in the areas of accounting, insolvency and auditing theories, practices, economics, banking and finance related issues, capital market operations, public finance and government policies, standards and professional ethics<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely response to Exposure Drafts and other international pronouncement o Standards<\/li>\n<li>Must be familiar with standard writing procedures and have flair for writing and editing technical materials for publication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must possess minimum of Masters\u2019 degree in Accounting &amp;
