Damco is part of the Maersk Group.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Team Lead \u2013 Customer Service<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Ref:<\/strong> DC-159366<br \/>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nPrimary Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take full responsibility for the end-to-end ownership of customers\u2019 shipments and issues.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Damco delivers the product sold to customers translating to increase in CM1<\/li>\n<li>Ensure customer is satisfied translating to a repeat business and increase in volumes.<\/li>\n<li>Engage in constructive problem resolution and provide solutions<\/li>\n<li>Act and communicate proactively, keeping customers informed of any issues arising or changes in their booking<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for providing an exceptional, world class customer service to all portfolio of customers.<\/li>\n<li>Address root causes and seek continuous improvements in our processes.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all correspondence are replied, within one hour from sender.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure swift service delivery, adhering to the standard process and customer specific IOP\u2019s.<\/li>\n<li>Interact with Sales to ensure customer agreements.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate completion of booking and documentation processes (pre-arrival assessment).<\/li>\n<li>Follow-up for resolution of issues\/queries + ensure timely response to customers.<\/li>\n<li>Timely handover of file to internal parties involved<\/li>\n<li>Manage job costing for customers assigned, which includes opening and closing of files.<\/li>\n<li>Send booking confirmation (document status &amp; cost implications for any delays).<\/li>\n<li>Manage written correspondence between OPS department, Carrier, etc. related to cargo tracking (vessel nomination).<\/li>\n<li>Keep Client updated on cargo status before and after arrival or departure.<\/li>\n<li>Escalate all major issues to customer service team leader<\/li>\n<li>Contact customer on additional charges and get payment commitment\/approval.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm with customer place and time of delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm and verify declarations then advise customer of expected duty amount and HS code (s) used.<\/li>\n<li>Raise Invoice for shipping\/terminal and other charges which must be prepaid.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare payment request, receive draft\/payment advice and handover to shipping clerk for payment of shipping line charges.<\/li>\n<li>Receive duty receipt and handover to operations.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up on entries with operations and advice customer on status.<\/li>\n<li>Advice customer on queries encountered during verification\/examination and discuss\/agree on a workable solution.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up on cargo delivery status.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate transport and Customs handling (Trucking\/CHB).<\/li>\n<li>Ensure invoices are raised timely and cross-checked with attachments and ensure delivered to client.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and manage empty container return to the respective nominated containers depots.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all container final detention invoices are paid timely.<\/li>\n<li>Manage Accounts Receivables for customers assigned.<\/li>\n<li>Update fields in TrackIT that are assigned to function in a timely and correct manner.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure team leader is in the know of all major communication with customers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Secondary Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain and enhance efficient relationships with customers, suppliers, clerks and authorities.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure clients are physically visited at least once a quarter or upon Sales invitation to foster greater relationship.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure operational excellence and coordination.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure pro-active communication internally and externally.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all issues affecting Damco are addressed within Organization as deemed required.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and monitor Data Quality of TrackIT updates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements\/Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Management, Social Sciences or equivalent is desirable.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in English as well as relevant local languages (verbal and written).<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in a customer facing role, preferably one that involved any form of technical thinking.<\/li>\n<li>Can handle pressure and high volume of customers.<\/li>\n<li>Personable, energetic, accurate, proactive and excellent communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service department for a fast-paced service company.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 1 year logistics operations experience will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communicator, persuasive and enjoy solving problems.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a team.<\/li>\n<li>Someone who is an excellent team player and able to work effectively under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Should have the ability to converse with people of all levels and is well organized, efficient and effective.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Technical Skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic proficiency in MS office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Performance Measurement:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yearly performance appraisal where personal and business objectives for past year is reviewed and new objectives are agreed upon.<\/li>\n<li>Quarterly KPI Review<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We Offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You will be reporting to the Customer Service .<\/li>\n<li>You will be given the opportunity to express your ideas and mentored to understand the Company processes and build a strong career.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHow to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/jobsearch.maersk.com\/jobposting\/index.html?id=DC-159366\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to Apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>25th December, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Damco is one of the world\u2019s leading third party logistics providers specialising in customised freight forwarding and supply chain solutions.
