Christian Aid works in more than 30 countries and has been operating in Nigeria since 2003. The Nigeria Country programme focuses on Community Health and HIV, Accountable Governance including humanitarian response and Gender.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0National NGO Programme Coordinator (Accelerating Localization through Partnerships (ALTP)<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja, Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> International<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to (Job Title):<\/strong> Health Programme Manager \u2013 Christian Aid, Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong>Salary Band:<\/strong> D<br \/>\n<strong>Matrix manager (if applicable):<\/strong> NA<br \/>\n<strong>Competency level:<\/strong> 2<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To successfully coordinate the Accelerating Localisation through Partnerships grant, a flagship high-profile project supported by ECHO, a leading global humanitarian donor, across multiple stakeholders (national and international NGOs). The role will involve ensuring linkages with national and local organisations and examining how to improve partnership models and strengthening the role and voice of national actors. This role and project are a direct outcome of the Grand Bargain.<\/li>\n<li>The post holder will be located in Christian Aid\u2019s Nigeria Country Office and work in close association with country team, Humanitarian Response Manager, Regional Response Manager, the Health Programme Manager and the Accelerating Localisation through Partnerships consortium (Action Aid, CARE, CAFOD, Christian Aid, OXFAM and Tearfund) and the National Steering Committee (NSC) to implement project outcomes in Nigeria including coordinating with the SWC, line agencies and national and local humanitarian agencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A robust localised inclusive National Steering Committee is formed and mentored on localisation, and a methodology is developed to ensure the inclusion and diversity of local\/national NGOs.<\/li>\n<li>Localisation is high profile, with the NSC providing tangible and effective representation of localisation issues and results at Grand Bargain, and selected key national and international events and platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Periodic progress reports generated and analysis available for programme and advocacy purposes.<\/li>\n<li>Programme consistency and integration developed through maintenance of quality monitoring and evaluation and programme support procedures and processes.<\/li>\n<li>Research is well-coordinated, programme operational pilots are well conducted and feed into the National Localisation Framework (developed with any necessary technical support from National Steering Committee and Consortium members) is presented to influential targets, donors and Grand Bargain signatories.<\/li>\n<li>Successful achievement of project log frame on budget and time in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Working with other project countries and sharing lessons learnt globally.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthened relationships with key humanitarian stakeholders including ECHO, OCHA, INGO forum, ensuring that local organisations are represented in coordination meetings with these stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>The programme feeds into the 4-country localisation meta-analysis, and the Localisation Frameworks shape and provide the content for the \u201cPathways for Localisation\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Person Specification<\/strong><br \/>\nApplied skills\/knowledge and expertise:<br \/>\nEssential:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree or equivalent, preferably related to Development or Humanitarian Studies, Policy, International Relations<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of Core Humanitarian Standards and Protection Mainstreaming<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of context of Nigeria and ECHO, EU or similar donor systems and compliance requirements<\/li>\n<li>Experience in conflict sensitive approaches in a complex environment<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrable understanding of the localisation agenda agreed at the World Humanitarian Summit<\/li>\n<li>Strong group facilitation and leadership skills<\/li>\n<li>Highly skilled in networking and verbal and written communication<\/li>\n<li>Excellent report writing skills<\/li>\n<li>At least 5-7 years\u2019 work with NGOs and INGO<\/li>\n<li>Experience in working with civil society organisations in Nigeria on both thematic and institutional aspects<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of three years\u2019 experience in programme design, monitoring and evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Overall understanding of current good practice and trends in humanitarian advocacy, global and in country discourse<\/li>\n<li>Advocacy experience within NGO sector<\/li>\n<li>Negotiation, Networking and representation skills<\/li>\n<li>Analytical &amp; strategizing skills<\/li>\n<li>Good communication in English.
